I get it now. I understand why the fandom is like that
it is so deeply important to have friends who have completely different tastes than you re: media. gotta be the normie friend for some and the weirdo esoteric niche guy for others. the one who can be chased with a worm around the playground and the one who can do the chasing in turn. peace and love on planet earth

i'm both dumber and smarter than you think so don't underestimate me because i'm actually smart about a lot of stuff but also don't be surprised if i'm dumb about some other stuff hope that helps
i would kill for the confidence of novelists who write genius-poet characters and then actually write samples of the “genius” poetry in the book. if i were a novelist writing a genius-poet i’d just be like “trust me, the poetry’s real good.”

Hey let's talk about The Kimblee Renaissance?
In the new FMA character popularity poll held for the 20th anniversary, we can see that a lot of the positions have shifted since the previous poll-
But notably for me, seeing Kimblee jump from 14th most popular to 9th most popular is so exciting!
Kimblee has always been rather popular in the JP fandom, but now he's really established as one of the most popular. In the unofficial fan poll, he's even ranked 6th most popular!
This would likely imply that many people returning to the series post-closure have a lot of renewed opinions on the characters.
If you've been keeping up with new FMA media like me, you've probably noticed an influx of Kimblee's presence, even when he could have been realistically nonexistant.
The 2nd live action movie included Kimblee in Ishval even though he never came back for any plot relevancy, even wrt Scar's story.
He had an impressive amount of exposure in the stage play, and stage play merch. When the mobile game came out, Kimblee was the first exclusive character on banner, and he was one of 3 characters represented by special effects, the other 2 being the most popular Roy and Ed! Normally this space would be reserved for Al, Ling/Greedling, Envy, Riza or Winry.
When the cafe collab came back, he got a decent amount of inclusion in the merch and even an exclusive menu item
So basically....... what does this mean?
Well the poll came out right around the 20th anniversary, and following the anniversary we got all of these projects. We could probably infer that upon seeing his popularity, he's being included in more! Does this mean we will see more of him in the future? I certainly hope so.
There isn't really anything to note beyond this, but I wanted to bring it up because its been really great to see Kimblee get his flowers after all this time
