Fight Back Fic Auction is a monthly charity drive that connects fic authors and writers to raise money for direct impact charitable organizations worldwide! We’re in our third month now!

The mechanics are very simple - an author signs up and offers fic, a reader donates to a charity of the author’s choice, and voila! A fic appears! The reader receives 100 words per $1 donated, to a maximum obligation of 2,000 words.

Since January 2017, Fight Back Fic Auction has raised $2110.29 for charities around the world!

Y’ALL DID THAT. Pat yourselves on the back!

And here’s all you need to do to make the April round a success:

If you’re an author, advertise yourself! This just doesn’t work without you spreading the word about all the fantastic fic you have on offer! Be active in letting people know that you’re up for grabs!

If you’re a reader, grab your wallet! Check out the Author List, find an author, talk it out, and send in your proof of donation to fightbackficauction@gmail.com!

Even if you can’t participate, spread the word! Let’s try to get as close as possible to hitting that $980 on offer. That can’t happen if people don’t know! Reblog, don’t like!

I want to sign up, but my fanworks aren’t fics. Can I still participate?

Absolutely! Just send an email to fightbackficauction@gmail.com before March 20th 11:59:59 PM so the mods can help hash out a fair scale of donation for your efforts.  We definitely want you to take part, but obviously the 2000 words = 1 fic = $20+ equation doesn’t apply in non-fic situations. We’ll figure it out case by case.
