Proud of stopping myself this morning and saying,

“Bitch, you’ve collected all your report card data, you’ve made it through the field trips, you’ve pushed and pushed and pushed— Whhhhhhhy are you still trying to push today???? You feel exhausted, run down, like shit, you’re sniffling, you have a headache. Stay the Fuck home.”

So I am.

Taking a moment to recognize how good it feels to prioritize myself ☺️

  • resting my overworked mind with nostalgic TV
  • filling myself with comforting carby food
  • inhaling steam to ease my sinuses
  • a couch nap that was perfection
  • a second almost but not quite nap where I just felt drifty— not quite asleep not quite awake

I’m grateful
  • and proud of hauling my ass to work yesterday. (Inspired by @cynicalrecoverysociety). Felt like I’d been hit by a truck, overwhelmed by too much to do, a sick day/mental health day would have been legit but I only have so many days left with some special kiddos and I really needed a few last bits of data.
  • it’s still raining 🌧️ and the air is cooler. God, we need both of these things so bad. Thank you.
