You know what i dont understand, why Fred and George gave Harry the map instead of Ron. Like i get it, Harry is a friend of their's but Ron's their little brother. If i had to choose between my little brother and my little brother's best friend then I would choose my brother. It wouldnt even be a contest, i dont care how famous Harry is.
“How come Fred and George never gave it to me!” said Ron, outraged. “I’m their brother!” - Prisoner of Azkaban
Ron agrees.
It’s just another way to illustrate that Fred and George... treat Harry much better than they do Ron.
“There’s been a mistake,” said Fred, snatching the letter out of Ron’s grasp and holding it up to the light as though checking for a watermark. “No one in their right mind would make Ron a prefect...” The twins’ heads turned in unison and both of them stared at Harry. “We thought you were a cert!” said Fred in a tone that suggested Harry had tricked them in some way. “We thought Dumbledore was bound to pick you!” said George indignantly. “Winning the Triwizard and everything!” said Fred. “I suppose all the mad stuff must’ve counted against him,” said George to Fred. “Yeah,” said Fred slowly. “Yeah, you’ve caused too much trouble, mate. Well, at least one of you’s got their priorities right.” He strode over to Harry and clapped him on the back while giving Ron a scathing look. “Prefect... ickle Ronnie the prefect...” “Oh, Mum’s going to be revolting,” groaned George, thrusting the prefect badge back at Ron as though it might contaminate him. - Order of the Phoenix

I like Fred and George but... the fandom really is mistaken about them. They’re not the coolest big brothers ever. On the contrary.

What I Like About You
Hermione always loved the holidays. Especially spending them at the Burrow with all of Ron’s siblings and their significant others. It was always so warm and cozy and welcoming. Something felt missing this year though, since Ron and Harry weren’t there.
Their Auror squad had gotten called out two days ago and no one was sure when they’d be back. Ron was insistent it’d be quick and they’d be back in time to kiss at midnight. It would be their only New Year’s Eve as an engaged couple after all. Hermione looked down to admire the ring on her finger and then slammed the rest of her drink to try and avoid the emptiness of him not being there.
“Oi! Cheer up, Hermione, I know we’re not Ron, but we’re still good company,” George joked.
“I never said you weren’t. But you’ve nothing to complain about since Angelina’s here with you. Ginny and I may have to kiss each other at midnight since our boys just had to be called out on a mission.” Hermione grabbed another Butterbeer and poured an extra shot of firewhiskey in it.
“Oh, I bet Harry and Ron would just love that, wouldn’t they?” George sniggered as Ginny through a pillow at him.
“Not wasting any time tonight, are you Hermione?” Ginny asked her with a raised eyebrow.
“What do you mean?” Hermione said.
“Looks like you’re planning on getting pissed. If that’s the case, then I want in! Wish you would have told me.”

My brain at 3am: Ron and Harry’s friendship is the most heartwarming thing ever, and this is a list of all their most emotional moments…

Well, now I have to list them:
1. Ron rescues Harry from the Dursleys
2. Ron pushes Harry out of the way of the Grim, gets taken instead.
3. Ron standing on a broken leg saying Sirius will have to kill him to get to Harry
4. Harry can’t run away from a werewolf because Ron is passed out on the floor and in danger
5. Harry immediately forgives Ron without needing an apology
6. “They’ve got, they’ve got Ron?”
7. The entire lake scene
8. Ron lets Harry stun him repeatedly to practice for the third task
9. That scene where they get in trouble for mock-dueling with rubber animals in class. One of my favorites because it’s just them being goofy and fun and moments like these are what Harry is fighting for
10. Ron gently calls Harry out for being a dick.
11. Harry is momentarily jealous about the prefect badge, but then feels really guilty because this is his best friend
12. Ron is like “you should’ve been prefect, not me”
13. Ron going “if you have a problem with Harry, you can take it up with me”
14. Harry supporting Ron when he wants to join the team
15. Ron being livid at Umbridge
16. Harry being distracted by watching Ron play, that he almost misses the snitch
17. Harry being really proud of Ron when he wins the cup
18. Ron follows Harry to the department of mysteries
19. Harry calling out for Ron at the depart of mysteries
20. Ron supporting Harry regardless of what the prophecy says
21. Harry saves Ron from being poisoned
22. Harry giving them liquid luck to stay safe
23. Ron saying they’ll follow Harry wherever
24. Ron Following Harry on the horcrux hunt, leaving his family
25. Ron putting up with starvation after losing a ton of blood due to splinching with a piece of Voldemort’s soul hanging from his neck for months
26. The fight. Not good emotional, but emotional
27. Ron saves Harry’s life
28. Ron apologizes
29. Harry comforts Ron
30. The hug
31. Harry forgives him immediately
32. Ron tried to come back the instant he left
33. “He must have known you’d always want to come back”
34. Ron offers to confront Voldemort on his own
