This is why Harley is like my all time favorite!

Why did they leave out the best part of this scene?;

The character development of Harley is probably one of the better things DC has done with their characters.

That last line :((((

There is more:

The fact that she actually had a plausible reason for the muzzle makes this even better.

Notes:

  • We have some left-right symbolism with Iroh being on the right and Zuko on the left.
  • While Iroh is the one literally behind bars, we only see him actually behind bars in a couple of shots, the rest of the time it’s Zuko who appears to be behind bars, symbolizing how he’s the real prisoner between the two of them.
  • We also get these nice shots where Iroh’s side of the shot has a lot more space and freedom than Zuko’s side, again helping us with that narrative prisoner thing we have going.
  • Iroh is in the light while Zuko is the dark. This speaks for itself. Iroh is free, and in the right, while Zuko is not.
  • I keep thinking the last frame might be symbolic somehow too. While Zuko kneeling on the ground isn’t itself symbolic, there’s something interesting about the shot’s composition–Zuko behind the bars in his darkens, a large hand offering him a crown…an offer at redemption, maybe? A way to escape his prison? It helps that the next sequence of shots is about Iroh telling Zuko about his struggle and how he can resolve it.

If both Avatar series have taught us anything it’s that if you’re a non-bender whose name begins with “H”

and your non-bender wife was killed by a firebender

and you have a daughter

who’s about the same age as the Avatar

then your daughter’s gonna end up with the Avatar

The camera zooms in past the bars for Iroh, and zooms out for Zuko, showing us who the real real prisoner is.

Iroh might be truly incarcerated, but Zuko lives within his own prison.

Iroh is free from the influence of his ancestors while Zuko is not.

When 14-year-old Brennan Walker missed his bus Thursday morning, he decided to walk to his high school in Rochester Hills, Michigan. After he got lost, he knocked on a door hoping to get directions. Instead, he ended up running for his life from a man who allegedly fired his weapon at the black teenager.
Jeff Ziegler, a 53-year-old retired firefighter, was arrested and charged with assault with intent to murder and a felony charge of possessing a firearm for allegedly shooting at Walker.
Authorities on Thursday responded to a 911 call from a woman who said that a black male was trying to break into her house and that her husband had chased him into the yard, according to an incident report from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s deputies located Walker down the street from the woman’s house. The teen told authorities that he had missed his bus to Rochester High School and was walking to school when he got lost.
He knocked on a resident’s door to ask for directions. However, the woman who opened the door believed that Walker was trying to break into her house and rob her.
Her husband, Ziegler, then chased after Walker with a 12-gauge shotgun and fired a round towards the teen as he was running away from the house. No one was injured in the incident, the sheriff’s office said.

how am I supposed to move on with life knowing that Jonghyun had planned his own farewell like how will I ever move on from the fact that he wanted someone to notice even during the last minute but no one did just how. jjong probably planned it a long time ago, because the timing was finally right, onew was finally gonna be able to make public appearances again and all the boys’ bdays were finished for the year. the concerts were also finished and how could we not notice his struggle and fail him when all his last posts were like a last cry for help or a final goodbye

I hope when people talk about Jonghyun, it’s not just about his passing...

I hope they mention his struggles he had to overcome as a child being raised by a single parent, and had to essentially live on welfare for part of his life.

I hope they mention that despite the opposition, he dropped out of school and got a GED in order to invest himself fully in his music.

I hope they mention the years he devoted as a trainee before debuting and consistently ranked as one of the top vocalists from the time he was signed.

I hope they mention his on-stage charisma with Shinee and as a soloist that captivated audiences for almost 10 years.

I hope that they mention what he was able to crossover from being an idol to being an artist, and a singer-songwriter at that.

I hope they talk about how his feat was unprecedented and all of his music has been subject to critical acclaim and praise across the board not just in Korea, but also recognized by Western critics and publications.

I hope they mention that he wrote and composed not only for SM and himself, but for other artists outside of the company, creating collaborative ties that helped to facilitate SM’s investment in such collaborations musically with the start of The Station.

I hope they mention his years as a radio DJ on Blue Night becoming an outlet for him and his skills, and for helping to appeal general audiences to take notice of his work despite the bias against idols.

I hope they mention his skills as a poet and writer for contemporary literature with his novel Skeleton Flower: things that have been released and set free, which also received commercial and critical success.

I hope they mention how he released 4 solo albums (with 1 to be released posthumously) in the past three years while still promoting with Shinee as a group in between.

I hope they mention his four series of sold-out solo concerts in those three years, each of them artistically diverse and marvels.

I hope they mention that he broke away from his “assigned” image in order to be true to himself and to his fans.

I hope they mention that he put his career on the line to advocate for education, LGBTQ+ rights, mental health awareness, and anti-discrimination for minorities.

I hope they mention that he never hid his emotions, and his lyrics came from the depths of his soul and touched countless others.

I hope they mention his undying love for his family and his members.

I just hope they mention how much of a legacy he left behind, and how important and beautiful that legacy is.

Kim Jong Hyun

the worst part is that he could’ve been saved .
