Nudist conversation enders
A while ago, a conversation in a discord for nudists went kablooie in a spectacular, yet predictable manner. I was asleep while it happened but could tell that the person starting the conversation was a troll almost from the moment they entered. Several other people who were present for it smelled a rat but felt they couldn’t call it out because they didn’t have hard proof, until they did and by then things had already gone sour.
To help people who spot a phony on social media call them out a little earlier, I made these conversation enders that people can use when someone appears to be starting a conversation in bad faith:
This is wonderfully niche and we need more necromancers on this platform.
hey so tumblr just added this thing (community labels) and by default ALL these category filters are set to remove anything labelled with these from your feed entirely (not just blurred).
Please remember to go into your settings and adjust them to what you prefer! if you're under 18, you won't be able to adjust them as they are set to Hide until you turn 18
this is what it looks like in settings (i have everything set to Show, the default is Hidden)
look at this cool borzoi hanging out with some white dudes
lol that’s Pink Floyd
What a great name for a borzoi.
After a young woman in Quebec City was hassled by multiple police officers for sitting on a blanket topless doing macrame while smoking a cigarette on a sunny day, a topless demonstration took place on Sunday in Montreal.
Organizer Alice Lacroix was among those topless at the “Liberez les Seins” protest at the Tam Tams at Mont-Royal Park at noon.
“It’s not only about changing people’s minds and changing the way people view women’s breasts, (but) it’s a protest about gender equality entirely,” she told CTV News.
Eloyse Paquet Poisson wrote a lengthy post on Facebook that went viral after she was accosted at the end of May by Quebec City police (SPVQ), who responded after a citizen complaint about her being topless.

Been seeing people say that we have to make Twitter completely unprofitable now that Elon owns it, and that's completely true. We need to do that. But we're not going to do that by just being so fucking annoying that no one else wants to be on Twitter. We have to be calculated, coordinated, and so fucking annoying that no brands want to be on Twitter. This must mark the resurgence of The Brand Wars. So if you're on Twitter, you must be completely insufferable to brands. Every brand account you find, comment "SILENCE BRAND" on their posts, block them, tell everyone you know to block them, and move on to the next one. This includes the brands you like. I don't care if Wendy's Twitter is funny; block them. If all the funny popular brand Twitter accounts lose even a quarter of their following in a decently short period of time, they will freak out, and they will blame Musk. If every time you see a sponsored post you immediately block the account that sponsored it, that's money that Twitter can't make off of you anymore, and that's money that Musk loses. We can do this, but we have to do it together, so let's show the world just how powerful a social media community can be and show them that billionaires have no place in that community.
I don’t have a twitter, but for those who do:
1. This is a moral thing to do, take the internet back from corporate accounts
2. It would be really funny
i wonder if pro-hitler propaganda looked like this
I’ve already said this in a reply but the art standards of pro-hitler propaganda were quite a bit higher. This is also how you can tell fake Ben Garrison cartoons, which have been mashed-up with Nazi-era propaganda from the 1930s and 1940s to make it look even more antisemitic, from the real ones: the unaltered Garrison cartoons are also frequently antisemitic, but they suck more.
2019: The Year In Fascist & Far-Right Extremist Violence
2019 was the third year that the Antifa International social media collective tried to document acts of violence committed by bigots, fascists, and the extreme right around the world. Over the last twelve months we’ve documented 570 violent incidents, including:
- 78 shootings
- 29 arsons
- 70 stabbings
- 304 beatings
- 16 bombings
- 20 vehicle attacks
- 3 kidnappings
- 2 acid attacks
- 3 scaldings
- 2 sexual assaults
- 43 foiled terrorist attacks
These attacks killed 372 people and injured 1151 others.
PARAMETERS
The two main parameters we had to contend with for this project were what would we consider to be “violence” and how we would decide if a violent act was motivated by bigotry, fascism, or far-right extremism.
We defined “violence” as any act that caused physical harm to a person; or any act in which included a credible threat of physical harm to a person; or any act in which it was likely that a person would suffer physical harm as a direct or indirect result (for example, an arson attack on an occupied building). This definition omitted acts of property damage and vandalism where people were not put into potential physical jeopardy as a result.
Determining which acts were motivated by the attacker’s bigotry, fascism, or involvement in far-right extremism was not easy. We examined each case under the same lens - using the anti-fascist slogan “respect existence or expect resistance” as a guide, we tried to determine as accurately as possible whether the intended target’s identity as part of, membership in, or activity in a group of people normally targeted by bigots, fascists, and the far right was the most likely motivation for the attack. Essentially, for each incident we asked ourselves if the victim(s) would have been targeted for attack if they did not belong to such a group. In some cases, we considered whether it was reasonable to conclude that the attacker’s involvement in fascist/right-wing extremism would have led them to resort to violence instead of using other avenues that someone not involved in such extremism would have chosen - this was especially true for attacks against people close to the attacker (such as family members) or against other fascists. It is important to note that we excluded violent hate crimes committed by state actors (such as military or law enforcement agencies) from our data set.
METHODOLOGY
We monitored reports of violent hate crimes in several countries. These reports came from the news media, advocacy organizations, and other sources. We compiled the reports into our chronology and map on a weekly basis. We’d like to acknowledge the value of the research compiled by groups such as ProPublica, the Human Rights Campaign, Tell Mama, Mut Gegen Rechte Gewalt, Bell Tower News, factchecker.in, the Never Again Association, Transgender Europe, and Luigi Mastrodonato, all of whom did outstanding work documenting violent hate crimes around the world that proved extremely helpful to our own research.
LIMITATIONS
This research, while likely the most comprehensive reporting of violent hate crimes in 2019, should not by any means be considered a complete listing of bigoted/fascist/far right violence. Instead, we believe it best serves as a sample of the level of violence committed nearly every single day last year. Because our research collective is small, unfunded, and run entirely by volunteers, we were limited to what stories we could find being published by news media and by advocacy organizations, which means that our data does not capture violent hate crimes that were not reported by either. We were further limited in scope to sources in languages we understood, which means that although we’ve improved in this regard, we still failed to document violent hate crimes in whole regions and countries that we are unfamiliar with and do not know the language(s) of. There is no doubt that the 570 incidents of bigoted, fascist, and extreme-right violence we managed to document in 2019 are only a fraction of the number of incidents that happen every day around the world. It’s our hope that by documenting and describing what our resources and limitations allow us to, the urgency of responding to this issue will be impossible to ignore.
FINDINGS We documented far more incidents of bigoted, fascist, and extreme-right violence than we did in the two years previous (we started this particular project in 2017) - 89% more incidents than 2018 and a nearly 400% increase over the number of incidents we recorded in 2017. All told, we documented more violent hate crimes in 2019 than we did in the previous two years combined. Likewise the increase in the number of those killed and injured by bigoted, fascist, or extreme-right violence. Whether this increase is a reflection of growing violence or whether it is because our ability to find and document violent hate crimes globally has improved is difficult to determine. Other findings from our research:
- The most violent single hate crime occurred in April 2019, when a Sri Lankan fascist group connected to Daesh/ISIS led a series of coordinated terror attacks against Christians, killing dozens and injuring hundreds.
- The group most likely to be targeted for hate-motivated violence in 2019 (after taking into account the April terror attacks against Christians in Sri Lanka) were Muslims, followed by migrants and refugees. Trans people experienced nearly the same number of violent incidents as LGB+ people but were the most likely to be murdered. Trans men and women were the victims in 23% of the bias-motivated murders we documented in 2019. Three out of every four violent attacks against a trans person that we documented this year was lethal.
- The 35 violent incidents we documented in New York City earn it the title of 2019 Violent Hate Crime Capital of the World, with 6% of all violent hate crimes that we documented worldwide occurring in the Five Boroughs. These crimes also give the Big Apple the title of the city with the 5th-most violent hate crimes per capita in 2019. As 74% of those attacks were against Jewish people, New York also appears to be the most dangerous city in the world for Jews, which just one neighbourhood (Brooklyn’s Crown Heights) accounting for a third of all violent hate crimes in the city last year. That said, Portland, OR. had the highest per-capita violent hate crime rate of any city in the world - nearly 4x higher than New York City’s. Washington, DC had the 2nd-most violent hate crimes per capita, followed by Warsaw, Berlin, and New York City.
- Bigoted, fascist, and extreme-right violence peaked in the period between April and August of 2019, when more than half of the incidents we documented occurred. Our research revealed this same pattern of violent incidents peaking between April and August of 2018.
CONCLUSION
It’s entirely possible that our work documenting bigoted, fascist, and extreme-right violence in 2019 demonstrates a marked increase in violence and especially deadly violence last year. The first day of 2019 saw nine different attacks in five countries that left 13 people injured and one dead. Nearly twelve months later, five Jewish people were hacked with a machete at a Hanukkah. At a press conference, the daughter of one of the most-seriously injured in that attack begged all of us to “please stand up and stop this hatred … all types of hatred against any race, religion, orientation, anything else.” As antifascists we will continue to expose, oppose, and confront fascists, using every means at our disposal to stop them, until the list of their victims drops to zero. Anti-fascism is self-defence and protecting our communities from fascist violence is why we fight.
In just three years, this research project has become the most globally-comprehensive documentation of violent hate crimes that exists (to our knowledge.) While other organizations that track hate crimes tend to cover just one country and wait until the end of the year to publish an annual report, we attempt to cover all countries and update our chronology and map in real time throughout the year, making our data the most up-to-date. But we can’t sustain or expand this project without your support! We’re raising funds so we can pay for the translation, research, analysis, writing, editing, and graphic design services we need to keep moving forward. Please support our continuing efforts to document and analyze violent hate crimes globally by making a contribution to help sustain & expand our research efforts - click here!
Anti-fascism and fascism are opposites, but there are people claiming to be Antifa while acting in line with fascist ideals (nationalism, media control, eugenics, racism, violence). How can we call them out ? And how can we help people differentiate between actual Antifa and these pseudoantifascists ?
We’ve never encountered such people claiming to be anti-fascist. Can you maybe give us some examples?
There have been violent events done in the name of Antifa, i think mostly during protests. These people clearly dont follow the same peaceful principles you have presented on several occassions. What can be done about this ?
Antifa is not a pacifist movement. The majority of anti-fascists will do whatever is necessary to defend their communities from fascist violence and will exercise their right to do so. To simply lie down and let fascists hurt people would be absurd. Please read this essay. Also, we think it’s a little fucked up for you to focus your concern on “violent events done in the name of Antifa” when fascists murdered at least 372 people and injured more than 1100 others last year, according to what we’ve been able to document. If you’re worried about political violence, maybe you should focus your concern on the people responsible for every extremist murder in the US in 2018 and not on the people trying to prevent them from murdering more people.
on september 11th 2001, two planes crashed into the world trade centre in new york city. It was a massacre. 3000 dead in a matter of 24 hours. the entire world was in shock of the atrocity, the brutal, diabolical murder of scores of innocents.
the american government reacted accordingly. a full investigation was launched to hold the culprits responsible – what nation could have sanctioned such a brutal attack on so many innocents? what kind of soulless country could, regardless of vendetta, allow such a heinous crime?
by 2002, the united states had their answer. the investigation was complete. A 600 page document known as the Congressional Report on 9/11 was released. approx 20 pages detailing the workings of the nation responsible were produced. The report was published.
Except the name of the country responsible for 9/11 was redacted in the report. blackened out with a sharpie. It would remain redacted for 14 years. The country in question? Saudi Arabia.
Instead of declaring to the world who was involved in orchestrating 9/11, the u.s. would hide this information for over a decade.
Instead, they would point fingers at Iraq, whilst knowing that iraq had nothing to do with the attack in the first place. They would orchestrate journalistic propaganda in the new york times about “weapons of mass destruction” – a narrative that had been proven false by their very own intelligence officers, a narrative that had been shot down by every journalist that had ever stepped foot in Niger (where the purported ingredients of mass destruction were coming from). Regardless, the New York Times would dutifully publish the perverted stories anyway. NYT editors would say “to not invade iraq is the bigger mistake”.
In 2003, the months of building up false stories in the media, propaganda in every mainstream newspaper, journal and t.v. show would pay off. The u.s. would invade iraq.
from 2003 - 2011 the country of iraq would be brutalized in ways never seen before by mankind. modern, 21st century warfare would decimate the very spirit of iraq. at least 460 000 innocent, iraqi civilians murdered in 8 years. entire generations were wiped out in less than a decade. we will never know their names.
waves of sexual violence committed upon “captured” cities ensued at the hands of american soldiers. many of the survivors, if not dead at the hands of their occupiers, would take their own lives. we will never know their names.
in 2011, the blood in iraq is finally dry. we’ve leeched all of it. we’ve procured the natural resources we came for – it’s time to head out. the so called WMD we came for were never found, they did not exist, they were never real to begin with. A far cry from how things got started, we start seeing articles about the falsehood of the iraq war. the same publishers who willingly handed out propaganda to the masses about WMD in Saddam’s hands are now saying “wait…we’ve made an error.” the narrative shifts. the occupation ends 3 years after a new commander in chief is granted the power to end it. in its wake we leave behind military bases and mercenaries that are ready to activate whenever called upon.
That same year, the u.s. supports various popular movements across the arab world. tens of regimes are flipped.
and in that same year, using the same weapons left behind by valiant american rapists and invaders, an army of another kind of mercenaries is born. they call themselves ISIL, then ISIS.
ISIS vows to cleanse the muslim world of shia muslims, minority sect muslims, christians, yezidis, Jewish people. ISIS also vows they are enemies of the u.s. America vows vice versa. Their feud is a celebrated one. ISIS, the evil nemesis of the Brave & Courageous America.
But then, 2012 happens. America, losing their influence and control over the levant, start funding ISIS factions. America starts funding Al-Qaeda factions.
The same NYT that once convinced us that Iraq had WMD is now INSISTING that these al-qaeda factions, that themselves claim to be brothers of al-qaeda, are moderate rebels simply looking for democracy and liberation. people believe it.
America’s proxies in the levant go on to destroy the region in unimaginable ways–and then, 2018 happens.
Iraqis & Iranians destroy ISIS. Indisputably, action from both nations led to the destruction of ISIS, now a paid member of the U.S. military. America, once using ISIS and AQ factions to regain control over the levant struggles to position themselves as the heroes – attempting pathetically to play both sides of the same coin. Again, the same way outlets like NYT backtracked their Iraq war propaganda, they start apologizing for identical mistakes in naming actual american funded terrorists as “freedom fighters.” another cycle ends.
ISIS is gone, but the real loss is America’s. They’ve lost the barbaric feudalistic control they once held in the region via ISIS and Al-Qaeda. Their terrorist assets have been reduced to ashes by a people they once themselves invaded from 2003 - 2011.
This brings us to today. The united states has assassinated Qassem Soleimani, Iran’s second in command. this is akin to another nation murdering the likes of mike pence, joe biden or dick cheney. it is an act of war. 4000 troops have been deployed to the Iraq-Iran region. It is an invasion.
And just as in 2003 the NYT & MSM justified the faulty invasion of iraq, and just as in 2012 the NYT & MSM justified the funding of ISIS & AQ factions, in 2020, a new propaganda will circulate to justify the illegal assassination of sovereign leaders.
New propaganda will circulate to justify a new era of bloodshed in Iraq & Iran and the rape and murder of innocents. New propaganda will vilify young, brown children as terrorists. New propaganda will circulate to return us to the year 2003.
There is nothing I can do within my capacity to help anyone. I am completely useless in saving any of the lives that will be taken in the next several years.
All I can do is ask that when you see a piece of information that attempts to justify the actions of the u.s. on foreign soil, in any foreign nation, that you reduce it to ashes. They lied to you in 2003, they did it again in 2011, they are doing it again in 2020.
Reject the lie. It’s all we can do.
