  • Assignment Critique - Sung Shin is a storyboard artist. His credits include Voltron Legendary Defender, Young Justice, Big Hero 6 TV Series, Guardians of Galaxy, Ben 10 Omniverse, Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures and many more. He has recently joined the Blizzard Cinematic Team.

ABOUT

There are many others who want to learn action storyboards and to build a career based on it. But there aren’t many classes that teach you this kind of storyboarding. This workshop is for those of you who are pursuing a storyboard career in the animation industry. Those who want to strengthen basic storyboarding techniques. Those who are art students. Those who want to work in action-adventure shows. Especially those who live far away from the Hollywood animation industry and have struggled to find an opportunity to learn.

Students will receive a website link to view and watch the workshop lecture, and an exercise based on the topic shared from the workshop, sharpen basic technical skills and tackle challenging story sequences like a conversation in drama, 1-on-1 martial arts fights, chases, large-scale action montages and more. The students will have access to rewatch the lecture videos for 1 year.

Each week during the workshop, the students will have the assignment to do, and they will receive a critique video based on their assignments.

Keep in mind, this was during the early post 9-11 period. The toxic jingoism and nationalism that infected our country through far right wing propaganda like Fox News was still simmering unlike now where it is a cancer poisoning our image and ruining the American Dream for many. 

Even our President at the time, Mr. Bush, despite his many wrongs, told the American people that Muslims in America were not to be treated with disrespect and that those that actually were 100% proven to be responsible for terrorism should be the only ones we should go after, not our own neighbors. If we do that, Al-Qaeda would have a small win through fear and paranoia by tarnishing the USA’s image. 

The college kid trying to get a medical degree or the old man saying a prayer at a mosque are just like you and me, paying taxes, working hard and trying to get through life as best as they can. Life is rough enough without prejudice and hate violence thrown into the mix.

Disney writers stepped up to show the aftermath of what 9-11 was doing to the Muslim community.

Reminder: these are not wild fires. They were set on purpose by the Brazilian goverment.

It's great that other countries are doing something but please keep in mind that the Brazilian goverment has to be held accountable for the damage they have done even after this crisis is resolved.

So, our “Lung” is on fire.

It is already threatened by huge deforestation, to the point it lost 20% of its width in less than 30 years.

It’s been burning for around two weeks and almost no word has been uttered about it. I, sincerely, have come to find out about it just now. I’m shooketh ™️ because we’re really burning away this planet.

The Amazon Rainforest holds 20% of global waters, it’s an area of incredible value in terms of biodiversity and, nevermind, it’s a crucial climate regulator. Spread awareness, demand help.

Article 13 is going into it’s final stages of voting. 

If this gets through, it will allow many, many companies to abuse and misuse this article to take down as many memes, fan works, and even other independent creators on sites like YouTube, Facebook, and other websites INCLUDING Tumblr. 

THE FAIR USE LAW AND SAFEHARBOR LAW WILL NO LONGER APPLY IN THE U.S OR IN OTHER COUNTRIES. 

IT HAS ALREADY PASSED IN SEVERAL OTHER COUNTRIES. 

WE CANNOT ALLOW THEM TO TAKE AWAY WHAT WE BUILT FOR THE INTERNET SO FAR. 

So here is what you need to do to drag this article down. 

1. Spread the word 

I can’t stress this enough. The more attention this gets the more people we can get to take this down. 

2. Make your own content 

Make your own content on the matter and make sure it is clear to others that Article 13 is bad for every internet user involved. 

3. If you live anywhere in Europe, contact your MEPs 

Ask them if they approve of the article and why. If they do approve of it, try to convince them in a clear, reasonable, and most sensible way possible that this law is BAD. 

The article itself is way to vague about what it’s conveying to its people. 

Saying that as long as the use of said internet memes or content is good as long as it’s in “good faith.” 

We cannot let some shoddy government tell us what we can and cannot post. 

FREE SPEECH IS A HUMAN RIGHT. NOT A PRIVILEGE.
