Actor Keith Carradine playing the role of Armand D’Hubert in the movie “The Duellists”(1977) directed by Ridley Scott.
The movie is based upon Joseph Conrad novel “The Duel”.
For all she knew (very little) he might have been a Dark Wizard summoning demons and i'm 60% sure you're not allowed to do that on a plane anymore.
I like how Scully is like "I may be a sceptic, but I'm a Catholic sceptic god dammit!"
yeah, the only problem is she fell away from the church, imagine how powerful she'd be if she attended mass regularly, i feel like she'd be less of a skeptic and attribute more to demons and stuff like that which would be pretty sick at least in my opinion
like this wonderful beautiful photo
they would truly be unstoppable
There’s also the part where lots of homeless people make public locations…unhygenic, and keep other people from using them for their primary purpose.
Some literally camp out there.
Those are all problems.
Public spaces are supposed to be for the public, and that’s very often not compatible with being “homeless friendly”. I don’t think homeless people have a greater right to public spaces because their life is terrible, especially when they physically make those places more dangerous.
You don’t even bother trying to justify your opinion. You just mock the opposition for internet points.
Assuming you even bothered to learn.
I dont think saying ‘a bench shouldn’t have a needless arm rail across the middle to stop someone sleeping’ is the same as saying they approve of tons of trash lying around.
The best way to remove homeless people from public spaces is to actually help them.
A lot of people got mad when Toronto or some other Canadian city cleared a homeless camp out from under an overpass, and a hipster restaurant was set up under that overpass.
Except it wasn’t the same overpass. It was another overpass entirely. There was no actual evidence of any connection between the encampment and the restauraunt.
>The best way to remove homeless people from public spaces is to actually help them.
A lot of homeless people have long term drug and/or mental issues that no amount of help can fix, unfortunately.
And I still don’t think anyone should get to monopolize public facilities.
A huge part of the problem is that politicians and other fools love to act as though there is one grand, overarching solution to homelessness. There isn’t a single solution because there isn’t a single cause.
And that’s really an oversimplification of it all. It’s a complicated issue, but politicians don’t get reelected by acknowledging that. They promise a solution, create a program, throw some money at it, and crow about how they DID SOMETHING!!!
Meanwhile, the program may or may not have helped anyone and may have made things worse.
Never gets old seeing posts that so earnestly and genuinely explain something that is 100% obvious to anybody who doesn't spend their life hopelessly online
"You have to bring your own moral framework to adult stories"
"There's more to media than shipping"
"We NEED to get comfortable with disliking people without pretending they've done anything wrong"
"Sometimes people on the internet LIE so always check donation posts!!"
"Do NOT cosign a loan for someone on tumblr"
