Little Ways to Make Selfcare Easier for Littles
πΌ Be little! πΌ
Little you may be more motivated to do certain tasks than big you. If you put yourself in little space and make self care appealing to little you, you might be surprised by the results.
You can:
β‘ Use a paci while you shower/bathe πΏ
β‘ Take a bubble bath π
- (Just be careful if you have body parts that put you at risk for getting a yeast infection! Ph ballanced bubble bath exists, so use it if you can!)
β‘ Use bath toys ππ³
β‘ Use baby lotion π§΄πΆ
β‘ Use kidβs shampoo, soap, etc. π§Όπ§
β‘ Use kidβs toothpaste and toothbrushes π¬
β‘ Use small or cute hairbrushes πββοΈ
β‘ Take a comfort object with you to sleep π§Έ
β‘ Take ALL OF THE comfort objects with you to sleep! π§Έπ°π΅
β‘ Listen to a lullaby or a bedtime story on youtube, or have your carer or a friend sing/read you one πΆ πππΆ
π Keep calm. π
Anxiety and intrusive thoughts can be a nightmare when trying to sleep, shower, or bathe. Keeping yourself calm and comfortable can be the key to getting your bed thoughts to leave you alone while you take care of yourself.
π Be little. πΌ
Ok, so already mentioned, but itβs worth saying again. Regression is comforting; regression is calming. Thereβs no shame in going to your little space in order to care for yourself.
πΌ Calm your senses. π
Use farmiliar sounds and smells to help you relax. Lavender, vanilla, and cinnamon, soft or slow music, and familiar podcasts, shows, and movies, can help you keep calm. You can:
β‘ Use a difuser with essencial oils at night or while spending a lot of time in one place
β‘ Use a scented candle
- (big space only, and make sure youβre supervising it!)
β‘ Use a shower steamer or scented bath bomb/bubble bath
- (remember to get ph ballanced bubble bath/bath bombs if youβre at risk for yeast infections!)
β‘ Use scented soaps, shampoos, lotions, ect.
β‘ Play background music/noise while doing tasks
π₯ Fight forgetfullness! π₯
π Make a selfcare schedule! π
Scedule times when you have to take medication, eat, shower, anything you have trouble doing. Then stick to it!
πΌ Have someone remind you! π¬
Show your selfcare schedule to someone you trust, your cg, a friend, a partner, and have them remind you when the time comes!
π Remind yourself! π
Set alarms to remind yourself to follow your self care schedule.
πΌ Get a pill box! π
If you take medication, you probably know the struggle of trying to remember whether or not you took your meds.
Illiminate that doubt by getting a pill box and filling it up once a week. If the meds are still in the compartment, it means you havenβt taken them yet.
Remember to get one that specifies the day/time you need to take your meds! If you take them twice a day, youβll need two sections for each day. Make sure you get a box that fits your needs!
π Combine them! π
Combine your new-found selfcare skills to make them even better!
You can:
β‘ Use kidsβ and babysβ products with comforting smells
β‘ Listen to kidsβ shows, movies, or songs
β‘ Make a sticker chart for your selfcare schedule
β‘ Customize alarms for little you
- You can make them say things like, βTime for bed now, little one,β or, βRemember to brush your teeth, Princess!β
β‘ Decorate your pill box while in little space or with your little self in mind
Do you have any more selfcare tips for littles? Feel free to add on!

Weight should be like virginity. Once you lose it you canβt get it back.
Ohhhh. I thought you were gonna say βWeight should be like virginity: a societal ideal by which we shouldnβt measure our personal worth.β

I just watched Tangled again and I want to say how much I love Rapunzel and Eugeneβs relationship.
- For most of the movie romance isnβt really a thing. Theyβre both independently focused on their dreams and unexpectedly fall in love the more they get to know each other.
- Eugene quit trying to seduce and romance Rapunzel after the first time in the tower. Everything nice he did after that was because he wanted her to be happy or because it was better for her.
- Eugene agreed to help Rapunzel to get the crown back instead of overpowering her and making her tell him.
- Even though heβs kind of forced to go along with her he tries to teach her about the world.
- You can see Eugene falling in love with Rapunzel because sheβs confident and independent and imaginative and once theyβre together he doesnβt try to change that.
- Rapunzel doesnβt give up on her dream as soon as she develops feelings for Eugene.
- She doesnβt act on her feelings for him until sheβs sure he doesnβt just want to be around her because he wants something.
- They both get multiple chances to be the hero for each other.
In short, theyβre awesome.
