The thing I hate most about depression is that it tricks you into thinking you don’t have depression. It makes you think that nothing is wrong with you, that you just feel this way because you lack value as a person. Whether that’s in your relationships, your academics, or a view of yourself, it makes you think you aren’t good enough for any of that.

“It’s not the illness,” it says, “You feel this way because it’s who you are.”

Me: I can’t get out of bed today, what is wrong with me. I’m so lazy and terrible and I am a huge flake and there has got to be something wrong with me. My brain: There is no war in Ba Sing Se.

He kept his lightsaber. 💙

Damn, I understand this lightsaber is a metaphor for Ben’s mutilated soul and that the lack of basic safety features is a great character design detail of someone who doesn’t believe in what they’re doing and is trying to sabotage themselves at every opportunity

but the shitty-electrical-mods subreddit style unhoused wire just stapled right on to the outside, kid what are you doing??? Its such amazing prop design, it’s such a metaphor for his character. Turn a light being like a person or a semi-sentient kyber crystal dark, but it can’t handle the trauma of the process so it cracks in half. Keep it in a state of torment enabled by destructively venting its extra energy. Spray paint yourself black. Do some decent welding work and then lose conviction and halfass the rest or make it a deliberate hazard. Need a last minute electrical fix after you’ve already reassembled the blade? Just throw it on there. Use a hot glue gun if you run out of cable cleats.

I mean yes we also need this thing to be reconstructed as a personal metaphor, but I personally need Rey the lifelong Hack Everything engineer girl to be really really mad about this disaster object in IX in the way only an engineer can be. I can tell that this lightsaber is a piece of crap that’s about to spontaneously combust, but I know I don’t personally have the EE knowledge to be even a fraction as mad about it as I should be. jj, give it to me.

It’s 2020 now. Let’s bring this back. Because Kylo Ren’s lightsaber is a metaphor for his soul, and Jar Jar and Turdio purposely forgot that fact.

It’s the same saber from his padawan days. Look at how neat it is. It looks like a nice, normal saber.

Now we can assume that, after the burning of the temple, he bled it so it would turn red, the way Dark Side practitioners do. But he was never committed to the Dark Side, so his inner conflict cracked the crystal during the process. That’s why it looks so volatile, so broken. As the SNL stormtrooper said, it’s “poorly made, like a little kid made it.” Lousy paint job, a hole that wasn’t even cut out neatly, a wire outside the casing, those makeshift vents (that is not a crossguard; a crossguard is meant to protect the user’s hand, not singe it or cut off their fingers if they touch the damn thing). In short, the saber needs fixing.

So he should have FIXED it, not thrown it into the sea. If he’d healed the cracked crystal (turning the blade white), the saber itself obviously wouldn’t be the same as the original but it wouldn’t be damaged anymore. It would have been a metaphor for his path to healing, to redemption. He’s not that young boy anymore, but he isn’t Kylo Ren either. He would have been Ben Solo reborn, healed and made new.

But instead we have him throw it away like a piece of trash, which is also a metaphor for how Ben Solo was treated in this movie.

The end.

Kylo Ren never was manipulated or abused some people say ...

Please explain this to me… Everyone sees this scene as a joke, but there’s something more …

The way Snoke treats Kylo and Hux shows that these two young men are just minions according to his own vision. Hux is thrown like a toy in front of all his subordinates with the only intention to humiliate him. Later ,he does the same thing with Kylo in front of the praetorian guards….

Kylo is used to this abuse that’s why he dodges the lightsaber unnecessarily. It’s a learned reflex  .

“Even you, master of the Knights of Ren, have never faced such a test”.

image

“We shall see. We shall see” Snoke  says, challenging Kylo to kill his own father and when this act does not submerge him completely in the darkness he humiliates him again, when HE was the one who encouraged him to do it in the first place ,with the empty promise of a possible absolute power …

How’s your wound?he ask pretending concern. Seconds later, seconds..he will say  “take that ridiculous thing off”, he will call Ben weak, a mistake, a failure and will remind him of his father’s recent death causing him a terrible emotional breakdown.

Divide and you will reign. Snoke encourages unhealthy competition between the general and his apprentice as some kind of twisted father figure .Eventually they could unite against him so,in order to prevent this he needs them to hate each other.

But it gets worse…Why not to tell Kylo about the force bond plan?. That information would have given Kylo a big strategic advantage over Rey.That way he would know what is happening and she wouldn’t …

But since Snoke  doesn’t  give a damn about Ben he creates this moment where neither of them understands what the hell is going on…

But this plays against him because the connection becomes more and more intimate and more human everytime.

Once Kylo brings Rey, Snoke humiliates him AGAIN mentioning his emotional weakness.

“It was I who bridged your minds.I stoked Ren’s conflicted soul.I knew he was not strong enough to hide it from you”.

In other words: I used my toy again as I felt like it …WHAT THE HELL

The funny thing is that Kylo has many reasons to kill Snoke: power, revenge, feeling betrayed but the only valid reason he finds to do it is Rey..and that is amazing …

Reasons to believe that Ben is dead: -His body disappeared

Reasons to believe that Ben was transported to the World Between Worlds and is coming back: -No Force ghost -Everything with Leia and Maz: Maz said it would take all of Leia’s strength to do what she had to do next, Leia knew Ben was going to die, Leia’s body disappears at the exact same moment as Ben’s even though she died earlier, Maz smiles -The Visual Dictionary established that Exegol is linked to the World Between Worlds -The fissures on Exegol have a transportative vergence: a high concentration of the Force -Ahch-To, where Rey saw Ben’s silhouette behind the mirror, is also linked to the WBW -Rey’s Jedi texts contain information about the WBW -The voices in the Rebels WBW episode include the following: Rey saying “we’ll see each other again, I believe that.” Ben saying, “Show me grandfather and I will finish what you started.” and Maz saying “the belonging you seek is not behind you.” -Rey looking up at the stars on Exegol and hearing voices is extremely similar to Ezra being surrounded by stars and hearing voices in the WBW. Direct parallels were drawn here. -Ahsoka was one of the voices speaking to Rey even though she’s not a Force ghost. But since Exegol is connected to the WBW this makes sense. -It’s likely Palps was able to come back because of Exegol being connected to the WBW -Speaking of which, Star Wars has a habit of bringing back “dead” characters -The WBW is a collection of doorways and paths that exist between time and space. The prophesized “dyad” connects two individuals across space and time. -A dyad is something incredibly rare and powerful - it hasn’t been seen for generations. You don’t set this up just to go nowhere with it. There is crazy opportunity here for future stories with these two and what they can do with the Force. -“Stand together, die together.” “The lifeforce of your bond. A dyad in the Force. A power like life itself. Unseen for generations.” This entire speech is about the two of them together, alive or dead, and the power of life that their bond is. -The story is continuing on. Kathleen Kennedy literally said that they’re not abandoning the characters created in the most recent trilogy -The setup for the new story is obvious. Besides needing to get Ben back and him and Rey being a dyad, we have Finn being Force sensitive, something he kept wanting to tell Rey but never got around to doing. We have Rey with a new lightsaber. We even have Lando asking Jannah where she’s from and when she said she didn’t know, he said to her “let’s find out”. -At the TROS premiere Kathleen Kennedy also said this: “We’re completing the saga. We’re not finishing the Skywalkers necessarily. They can always, in one way or another, reappear. For right now it is bringing it to a close.“ -Matt Martin gave us this hint: “We’ve seen characters come back before so it’s always comes down to the story being told.” -Dave Filoni, who would know how upset we all are, gave us a lovely Christmas present of Gandalf talking to Ahsoka saying “People thought I was dead too. Look how that turned out…” -Star Wars knows that Ben is their most popular character. I mean he’s winning the poll on their website by around 86-90%. The next highest is Rey at 3%. They can’t possibly be that stupid. Keeping Ben around equals money for Disney, and Disney definitely wants money.

Haven’t we always been right before, about basically everything in this story? Ben being redeemed. Reylo. Them having a Force bond. Ben not slaughtering the students at the Jedi temple. Snoke lying about creating the Force bond and it happening during the interrogation scene. Palpatine speaking through the Vader mask. Star Wars has lied to us about many things before, but they always leave in enough clues. They give you enough information that if you want to figure things out, you can, and as a group we’ve always been the ones to understand these clues.

Also one last thing: didn’t we predict before this movie that Ben would die and be brought back? We literally saw this coming. The one thing we didn’t realize was that this wasn’t the end of the story and that it’s still continuing on. And Star Wars, being extremely evil, just happened to cut off before the resurrection part.
