Generosity and Compassion
Generosity and compassion are important virtues. Everyone should develop them especially Bodhisattvas.
We should be kind and charitable to those in need, and assist people who require our help.
But the greatest gift we can give to anyone is the gift of truth.
Sakyamuni Buddha said “Sabbe Danam, Dhamma Danam jayati” which means “of all gifts, the gift of truth is the greatest”
Likewise the best way to help someone is to point them towards rebirth in the Pure Land, that is to lead them to enlightenment and liberation from suffering.
