Here’s some thoughts for you :)
What if Sherlock didn’t lie to Molly? What if he meant every word he said to her on the phone? What if it was so hard for him because it was true? And not even romantically. Mycroft told us Sherlock was an emotional child in the beginning, but since Eurus- and Victor, maybe he hasn’t loved anyone; until Molly. He has a friend. He cares deeply for her, that much is obvious. Did you see the pain on his face when she told him she didn’t want to talk to him she was having a bad day… he was devastated. He wanted to comfort her, ask what was wrong, but he couldn’t. All he could do was tell her he loved her. He sounded like he meant it because he did. This man- the one who is a sociopath incapable of feeling- loves his friend enough to risk that friendship to save her life, and I think that’s beautiful. Molly Hooper has helped Sherlock Holmes become someone who not only feels love, but can also say the words to another human…
