Muriel Fahrion, the creator of Strawberry Shortcake and Care Bears gets NO ROYALTIES for the popular lines. NOTHING, even though it has steadily been licensed out for more than 40 years. This shit is evil as hell and I hope that whatever contracts those studios had people like her signed are reviewed and deemed as unjust and her and all affected parties get some compensation for their work and the impact it had on the world. She is just a wonderful person please if you can buy something from her shop and support her in anyway you can.

she went through incredibly tough times as an artist and went into debt after her husband died. in 2019 she started being more public on social media about being the original creator of these iconic characters. despite everything, she still loves strawberry shortcake and spreads nothing but kindness and positivity on her instagram (everyday she always posts a daily video of her dancing in her kitchen :) she’s so full of joy) it would mean a lot if you supported her and bought something cute from her website!

I imagine multiple answers will be true for many of us (goodness knows they are for me), but try to choose whatever feels like the most common/prevalent reason!

Look, I'm not saying you shouldn't say stuff like punch nazis. Please do. I'm all for punching nazis and pushing them out for the safety of minorities. It's just very noticeable when that is not the intention for some people, which happens to be a lot and it's a problem. It's frustrating when people in leftist spaces go on about hating nazis, but it becomes clear its more about feeling superior and having an enemy to fight rather than keeping the people safe, who are targeted by nazis, and even learning HOW to do that. I don't automatically feel a little more safe as a jew when I see or hear someone say "punch nazis", and I think that sucks!
