Of all the Salem scenes we have gotten so far, this moment in Witch always stuck out to me. When she angrily asks Oz why does he keep coming back, it's clear that her anger stems from the fact that he's standing in her way of finally getting to die. But it also highlights how she doesn't understand why Oz keeps interfering with her plans and defending humanity which in turn ties into how she still hasn't learned the lesson the brothers are trying to teach her.
In Salem's mind, Oz is the only other person in Remnant who can understand how immortality is its own hell since both have been alive for centuries. So she would assume that Oz would want to die. Yet what she fails to understand is the fact that even though Oz probably wants to die as well, he's not going to do it at the expense of killing everyone. While Salem sees humanity as pathetic and worthless beings due to how she views herself as a goddess and has lost her humanity. Oz on the other hand has never considered himself a god with him never losing his humanity. Oz may have made his fair share of mistakes, but he is still a good person at heart and will do everything in his power to ensure that people won't die because of Salem's selfish desires. So while Salem may see humanity worth sacrificing so that she can finally die, Oz doesn't.
Salem may think that she understands why Oz is fighting against her but she clearly doesn't because if she did, that would require her to understand the importance of life and death.

Some thoughts:
Gen 5 was all about giving their gym leaders some star power, SO it only makes sense they’d have flashy galas and “red carpet” events every year.
