reading that daveed diggs didn’t think there was a place for him on broadway and that he assumed he was just a temporary stand-in during the hamilton workshops and even its run at the public breaks my heart. i just wanna squish his lil face between my hands and tell him “you’re beautiful, you’re smart, you’re extremely talented, and your heart is big. anywhere in the world would be lucky to have you, not the other way around.”

UPDATE: daveed is still beautiful, he’s still smart, he’s still extremely talented, and his heart is still big. and so is his TONY AWARD. 

Okay but this shot of them all holding out their arms without any guns was the most visually stunning and poignant moment of the tonys tbh

The show earned sixteen nominations when there’s only thirteen eligible categories. That’s the most Alexander Hamilton thing I’ve ever heard.

@emeraldcitycomicon was AMAZING this year and I’m ready to lie down and nap forever, but I figured I could share a couple of the @hamiltonthemusical sketch commissions I got over the weekend first!  You guys are the BEST. <3

every time i think about lin manuel miranda and his achievements i get a lil overwhelmed with emotion

like, can you believe in 2009 the white house called him and asked him to perform and instead of taking the easy route and picking a song from ‘in the heights’, he took 16 lines he’d written down about alexander hamilton and turned it into a song (and then the best musical ever) and performed it publicly for the very first time in front of the president of the united states and they all laughed when he said “alexander hamilton” but by the end of the performance he received a standing ovation

fast forward to 2016 he has another highly successful and critically acclaimed musical under his belt, he’s rapping his grammys acceptance speech and everyone bursts into applause at the mere mention of “alexander hamilton”

god. i love this man so much.

Theatre Kid Things

That strange unexplainable feeling while watching a Broadway show.

From a techie point of view this is amazing and so interesting! I find mic tape all over myself sometimes from many actors

that bit at the end of non-stop where all the major act one songs get reprised and the whole company does the thing where they stop singing their individual parts and harmonise on ‘history has its eyes on you’ with no music and then hamilton sings a reprise of my shot + alexander hamilton and it ends on him yelling “I AM NOT THROWING AWAY MY SHOT!” might be the most satisfying piece of theatre music to ever be written
