Anything!

@rainbowlondi

A blog anything I love!!

I needed this.

Thank you to all the people who posted this so I ended up seeing it. I really needed this right now. Thank you!

Yeah… Not gonna lie… I cried…

We need more people like this

Goddamn it stop making me feel human

The therapist I wanna be.

Text in the image:

“I’m a therapist and keep this poster in my waiting room, apparently it’s saved a few lives.”

I don’t like the phrase “a cry for help.” I just don’t like how it sounds. When somebody says to me, “I’m thinking about suicide. I have a plan: I just need a reason not to do it,” the last thing I see is helplessness.

I think your depression has been beating you up for years. It’s called you ugly, and stupid, and pathetic, and a failure, for so long that you’ve forgotten that it’s wrong. You don’t see any good in yourself, and you don’t have any hope.

But still here you are: you’ve come over to me, banged on my door and said, “HEY! Staying alive is REALLY HARD right now! Just give me something to fight with! I don’t care if it’s a stick! Give me a stick and I can stay alive!”

How is that helpless? I think that’s incredible. You’re like a marine: trapped for years behind enemy lines. Your gun has been taken away, you’re out of ammo, you’re malnourished, and you’ve probably caught some kind of jungle virus that’s making you hallucinate giant spiders.

And you’re still just going, “GIVE ME A STICK. I’M NOT DYING OUT HERE.” “A cry for help” makes it sound like I’m supposed to take pity on you, but you don’t need my pity. This isn’t pathetic. This is the will to survive. This is how humans lived long enough to become the dominant species.

With NO hope, running on NOTHING, you’re ready to cut through a hundred miles of hostile jungle with nothing but a stick, if that’s what it takes to get to safety.

All I’m doing is handing out sticks.

You’re the one saying alive.

I legit cried at this. I’ve needed to hear it put this way. Bless this post.

Every time I see this post I stop to read the whole image. It always helps — even on the good days.

Because it wasn’t weakness. It wasn’t shameful to seek help. It wasn’t pathetic to “cry for help”. I was looking for a stick, be that from myself or from someone else. I was trying to find a way out. I was trying to heal myself.

this is fuckin incredible.

I’m sorry if I repost to many of these, but if it could be someone’s “stick” then it’s worth it

For anyone that needs to read this today.

They also have this one and I think quite a few others but these two I keep on my phone and pull up on my bad days.

Text on second poster:

‘WHY ARE YOU SO LAZY?’

But you’re not lazy. Lazy is when you shrug things off because you can’t summon up the give-a-damn. When you’re curled up tight in your chair at your desk, alone and grey and desperately wishing that you had your life in order, that you did all those things you had to do, that it didn’t feel like breaking rocks just to feed and clothe yourself and get some sleep, that’s not lazy.

People don’t understand. You tell them “It’s hard.” They tell you “No it isn’t, you’re just lazy.”

You start to wonder if they’re right.

is breaking those rocks easy for everyone else? Are they that much stronger than you?

They don’t look like they’re struggling.

“Just try harder,” they say. But you’re trying. It’s not working.

Breaking boulders in your path until you’re spent isn’t lazy. And you do it day after day after day.

You’re not lazy. Most people don’t have those rocks to break. They don’t even know what it’s like to have to break rocks to get things done. They don’t understand how hard you have to work, and how hopeless you can feel, when you try and fail to do what they do so easily. Things are harder for you. They really are. And if those people had to deal with your problems, they wouldn’t be doing any better.

You’re not lazy. You’re not weak. You’re fighting hard. I guess I just want you to know that I know that.

Audio ID: [“Hello friends. Quick update from Minneapolis, I’ll try to make it fast. Last week there was another police murder. His name was Winston Smith. Twelve (12) plain clothes cops rolled up on him in his car and shot into his car and killed him.

We’ve been protesting, and as a result, two days ago at one of the protests, a white man drove through the barricades and hit several protesters, and he killed one. Her name was Diana Marie. When she got hit, cops showed up in full riot gear before an ambulance came, and when the ambulance arrived, the cops were blocking the ambulance from getting to them because there were so many of them.

Cops have been attacking protesters every time, and the National Guard is coming out in a day or two now.”] /End ID.

Caption ID: [”there is a full-blown military occupation currently in minneapolis and no one outside of here (that i have talked to) has heard anything. social media posts are being suppressed, the news is reporting inaccurate things, cell service is being jammed, mass arrests being made every night, helicopters circling every night, i am terrified.”] /End ID.

Local sources are claiming that police response has been so violent in particular because Winston Smith was a revolutionary and vocally anti-cop and anti-government.

Just to expand on the above linked post: The initial reporting on the assassination of Winston Smith said he was a murder suspect, then said he had a gun and fired at police, claiming there were shell casings in the car. After a couple weeks we know that he was unarmed and being targeted by a federal and local task force under suspicion of being in possession of a firearm as a felon. All officials have said there’s zero body camera footage of this event. They claim that he was in possession of a 7-shot .380 S&W handgun, which is exactly the kind of handgun that police are known to carry as “drop guns” to plant on the unarmed people they kill. The woman who was in the car with Smith and was injured when he was murdered said there was no gun in the car.

I’d also like to add on and say that the national guard is becoming a part of routine policing in the twin cities. The mayor of Minneapolis begged the Governor to give him 100 national guard to keep on “standby.” They’ve done this at least 4 times this year, to the point that they’ve set up checkpoints at the capitol and the Hennepin county courthouse, lined with razor wire traps and manned by fully-equipped national guard, completely shutting down traffic in the areas. Air National Guard drones and helicopters are being routinely deployed to spy on protests, even demonstrations not protesting police violence. The Twin Cities have crept into a bizarre kind of “soft” martial law. I’ve heard locals talking about twitter suppressing tweets about this stuff. Pay attention because this is gonna be the future of day-to-day policing in America if you don’t fight it.

hey remember how awhile back i mentioned that tiktok has a whole trend where people mix cleaning supplies well i redownloaded tiktok so im finally able to show you what i mean

I put my bare hands in this sink and get a chemical burn so bad it oozes and bubbles nonstop for days

i have GREAT news for you

potion of cough up blood

people are so fucking stupid oh my god

Cleaning TikTok: We’ve mixed the perfect cleaning solution!

Everyone Else: You’ve created mustard gas is what you’ve done. Your lungs look like you’ve just returned from the Western Front.

Jesus fucking christ. One time I accidentally mixed an ammonia scrub and a bleach spray and gave myself a migraine in 15 minutes how the fuck are they even still standing.

Time for a health and safety lesson.

See below for a chart on what household cleaners to NEVER EVER MIX EVER OR YOU CAN (AND WILL PROBABLY) DIE OR OTHERWISE BECOME EXTREMELY FUCKED UP AND NOT IN A FUN WAY BUT IN THE HOSPITAL AND/OR GRAVEYARD WAY:

The above is not a complete list, but these are extremely common in most households and therefore are the most likely chemical fuck-ups to occur.

DO NOT MIX HOUSEHOLD CHEMICALS.

DO NOT MIX CLEANING AGENTS.

DO NOT MIX CERTAIN ASTRINGENTS. (HYDROGEN PEROXIDE IS OFTEN IN FIRST AID KITS OR WOUND SPRAYS AND CAN CAUSE A REACTION IN SMALL AMOUNTS IF MIXED WITH THINGS IT SHOULD NOT BE MIXED WITH EVEN ACCIDENTALLY ON A SURFACE ETC.)

DO NOT MIX ANY CHEMICALS THAT YOU ARE NOT 100% SURE ARE SAFE TO MIX. (SPOILER: MOST THINGS ARE NOT REALLY SAFE TO MIX AND SOMETIMES COMBINING SAFE ONES ACTUALLY MAKES THEM LESS EFFECTIVE ANYWAY, SO JUST DON’T COMBINE THIS KIND OF SHIT!)

YOU ARE PROBABLY NOT A CHEMIST. PLEASE DO NOT TURN YOUR KITCHEN/BATHROOM/HOME INTO A LAB ACCIDENT.

IF YOU ARE A CHEMIST, YOU SHOULD STILL NOT FUCK AROUND. MANY OF YOU DO NOT RELIABLY USE YOUR SAFETY GOGGLES OR THE CORRECT TYPE OF SAFETY GOGGLES. (IF YOU’RE THE TYPE OF CHEMIST WHO DOESN’T ENSURE ADEQUATE VENTILATION IN YOUR WORK AREA, I WILL NOT TRUST YOU WITH BLEACH. COMPLACENCY KILLS.)

CONCLUSION: STOP MIXING CHEMICALS!

YOU ARE NOT PROFESSOR X, AND YOU WILL NOT END UP CREATING THE POWERPUFF GIRLS.

YOU WILL ONLY CREATE A NEW INVOICE FOR YOUR LOCAL FUNERAL HOME.

I AM YELLING AT YOU BECAUSE I LOVE YOU AND WANT YOU TO BE SAFE.

TO ANY DUMBASS TEENAGERS OUT THERE, I WANT YOU TO SURVIVE LONG ENOUGH TO BECOME DUMBASS ADULTS.

PLEASE DO NOT DIE.

The fumes from this vid burned all the hair off my body, melted my skin, and then killed me t.f

Hey, this actually very useful information to have if you are a kid or otherwise don’t know.

I feel like the “may cause death” part on that chart needs to be majorly bigger. The descriptions of the first two sound like they’d be unpleasant, but “unpleasant” doesn’t cut it. Needs to have a way bigger “THIS IS HOW THEY KILLED PEOPLE IN WARS BEFORE IT WAS OUTLAWED” warning.

[Image ID of the chart of household cleaners: A colored chart by UnivarSolutions. It’s titled: “Do not mix these household products.

Bleach + Vinegar. Bleach and vinegar mixture produces chlorine gas, which can cause coughing, breathing problems, burning and watery eyes.” After this text, there’s a symbol of a red diamond shape with a skull inside, labeled “Danger! Poison. May cause death”

“Bleach + Ammonia. Bleach and ammonia produce a toxic gas called chloramine. It causes shortness of breath and chest pain.” The same skull symbol comes after this line, also labeled “Danger! Poison. May cause death”

“Bleach + Rubbing alcohol. Bleach and rubbing alcohol makes chloroform, which is highly toxic.” The skull symbol comes after this text, labeled “Danger! Poison. May cause death”

“Hydrogen peroxide + vinegar. This combination makes peracetic/peroxyacetic acid, which can be highly corrosive.” After this text is the skull symbol, as well as a red diamond with a fire inside, and a red diamond with the icon for corrosive chemicals, labeled “Danger! Highly corrosive and combustible” /End ID]

Last thing to mention, as someone who works in a place that deals with literally the worst chemicals (in a controlled manner, but seeing hazard signs is almost background noise to me now)

If you did use two agents but in different applications, do not put the used cleaning applicators in the same trash bin/laundry bin.

If you used different rags, wash rags thoroughly, dry in different locations, place in laundry bin dry, just assume contam.

For paper or disposable products, place like items in a plastic bag, tie when finished, then dispose. Acids with acids, solvents with solvents, bases with bases.

Brought to you by my Safety Team and the CDC

PLEASE DO NOT THINK FOR EVEN A SECOND THAT YOUR VOICE WILL NOT HAVE AN IMPACT THIS IS LITERALLY THE BARE MINIMUM

I'm sorry for putting this in the BLM and stop Asian hate tag but in the last few days posts tagged with "Palestine" have not been showing up.

F!ROBIN APPRECIATION POST GDI

Since Nintendo/IntSys keeps giving the precious F!Robirb the shaft at every turn, I’m just gonna make this post. Female Robin deserves better than being an afterthought.

Reblog if you agree!

Reasons to Love the Tepig Line

1. Unique Battle Style

Emboar has never gotten the credit for this. Why? Because it was the third fire/fighting starter in a row, and that’s all anyone cares about is type. But actually the Tepig line plays incredibly differently than either Blaziken or Infernape. Emboar has an enormous HP stat that it draws on like a resource in a sacrifice strategy. Blaziken was a balanced mixed sweeper, while Infernape sacrificed some of Blaziken’s raw strength for speed but ultimately plays pretty similarly. Emboar OTOH is more of a defensive, sacrificial wallbreaker along the lines of Mega Blastoise. But this was never appreciated.

2. Best shiny

image

Shiny Emboar is one of the only Pokémon that actually came up even cooler in the transition to 3D. The purple shading on the flame wasn’t there in 2D.

3. Buddhist style artistic motifs

That pattern in the middle of Emboar, along with its patterning as a whole, is strongly based on artistic motifs found throughout Asian buddhist art. To get an idea of what I’m talking about, here are some pictures from the Damek Stupa, a Buddhist monument near Benares, India:

Westerners might be more familiar with this kind of thing:

See that one on the bottom right of the second pic there? And none of these patterns would be at all out of place on Buddhist art, either, and I’ve seen a lot of it with some of these exact motifs. (I live in South Asia.) The reason why these symbols are exactly the same is so cool. It’s because the armies of Alexander (or Sikander, as we call him) didn’t just pillage and go home. They set up camp and decided to make themselves comfortable and after a while they just sorta lived here. They were considered to be of the Kshatriya caste, the rulers, but since they did not respect the authority of the Brahmins, the priest caste, the Brahmins downgraded them to Shudras, then the lowest caste in the “order”. But Buddhism rejected the caste system. So the descendants of Sikander’s armies, now targeted and persecuted by the Brahmins, became among the early converts to Buddhism in the time of the Buddhist emperor Ashoka. Although the Buddha himself forbade statue production, it was pretty much one of the only things that some of these guys were good at, so they went about inventing like, entire genres of Buddhist art.

And that’s the history behind the Tepig line’s design.

4. Moblins

This is more of an aesthetic coincidence than something that I think was strictly intentional, but the Zelda series has these cool pig goblins called Moblins that are generally some of the scarier and higher-level mobs in the game. I remember in Ocarina of Time there were like, 3 in the whole game. But they’re far and away bigger than any other random monster and even some of the bosses. As a kid it didn’t even occur to me that you could kill these things. And in Pokémon at least, you can’t. You can only wear it out, because…

5. it cares deeply about its friends.

There are three attacks mentioned in this Pokédex entry, and of them, the only one it had to begin with was caring deeply about its friends. It couldn’t actually learn Fire Punch until B2W2, and tragically, it still can’t learn Fiery Chin. Come on GameFreak. It’s time.
