Both Hawkeye and Uncanny Avengers are featuring the 'bad futures that must be averted' trope. Hawkeye might be varying it a little with no one yet trying to stop it but it still feels as if this trope is played out and overused. The plot is one reason I won't be buying Uncanny and i wonder how you decide a type of plot gets to play out in multiple current books or if it should be retired in general?

According to some, there are only seven possible plots, so everything that you can do is going to have been done before in some form. The trick, really, is to do it in an interesting way.
