I want to mention, that from everyone here. We fully support the content creators involved with the Bon Appetit brand
Our loyalties are not with that brand
Should the creators strike, quit, get laid off, or the brand explodes and dies, we will be in support of Claire, Brad, Andy, Chris, Molly, Sohla, Priya, and any other prospective former members of Bon Appetit. We will continue to follow and support their content regardless of their career path. Currently, at the time of writing, Claire is out of contract with Bon Appetit. As an example, if she were to decide to not renew her contract, our content would still be geared towards her
We of course will continue to stand with Sohla, but we will not be supporting the content in which she does not get paid. We will not support a company that asks people of colour to work outside of their role with increased responsibility without fair compensation, compensation they have no problem providing the non poc creators.
Our love is for the people, not the business. We want to surround ourselves with love, and not be bogged down with contract disputes and exploitation of labour forces, and we will help fight for our content creators so that they dont have to be either.
Whats important to us is their success, their mental health. The “Gourmet Makes” brand is nothing but corporate branding, and we will choose not to support it, if it means supporting Claire. “It’s alive” is just a show, we support Brad Leone. Sohla doesnt have a show, but if she did, we wouldnt support it, we would support her
And while we use these individuals as the primary examples, this goes for everyone else with a threatened livelihood because of the negligence of the Bon Appetit company. A company is only as strong as its primary labour force, and if they refuse to see it, we refuse to support them
