Currently thinking about how Asgore’s loneliness lead him to try and interact with his people as much as possible.

Having small lessons on responsibility and plants at the local school. Being Santa Claus for Gyftmas. Walking around the entire Underground near daily and chatting with any of the monsters he should run into. Literally opening his home to any monster that wants to stop by and talk.

It must have been soul crushingly painful each day as he comes home. An empty house. Dust takes the place of the laughter of his children, Cobwebs cover his wife’s favorite reading chair next to a fire that hasn’t been lit in years, the smell of freshly baked pie replaced with the smell of Flowers. 

He can’t stay. To be alone he spends time tending to the Golden Flowers. His adopted child’s favorite flower. Occupying his hands and thoughts with the work needed to help them thrive. Not that they need a lot of work to keep alive, as hearty as they are. And even there he can’t completely forget the past. The lone throne. The other in the corner is covered as to not collect dust.

Oh! He has a visitor today. Hopefully they won’t mind waiting for him to finish watering these last few flowers.
