I hope you know what you're doing Tom, in particular I hope you recognize that for long time the Maxximoffs have been some of the most Visible Jewish/Roma heroes in comics, and I retconning their origins could potentially raise some implications that should not be unexamined. Please consider that.

I certainly see the Roma connection, that’s a very important part of Wanda and Pietro’s past, and isn’t something that can be ignored or removed.

But I can’t think of a single instance where the idea that they’re Jewish has ever come into play. That’s a circumstance that they inherited from Magneto, and not one that’s ever truly impacted on either of them. So as long as Magneto’s background doesn’t change, I think it’s something of a zero-sum game when it comes to Wanda and Pietro.

Wanda and Pietro fall for the most part just outside my area of particular obsession so I don’t know how true that is. What I do know is that Marvel doesn’t have very many Jewish heroes anyway, especially visible ones (can I just say how tiring it is that the only time Kitty mentions her Judaism is when writers need to hammer their Holocaust metaphor home?), which makes this more upsetting. I’m glad you understand that their Roma identities are important, though, and I hope this means that they will be protected no matter what happens with this retcon.

Well Wanda and Pietro weren't raised by Magneto and they found out about him being their father when they were adults, also Wanda and Pietro have celebrated Christmas before (but that last one relates more to the religion though). I don't know if there ever was a story were Wanda and Pietro have tried to explore their Jewish roots or talk about them but it would be cool if there was one (although with Magneto not being their dad I guess that is thrown out for the time being :/)
