Honestly it's a shame that shadow hasn't appeared in idw sonic in AWHILE-
Cause honestly i felt like he was having a good arc the last time he appeared.
Idk after rouge told shadow that small little thing about
"oh yeah you can focus on starline, it's your choice, but I'm just saying you'll regret it."

its not like he was offended or anything, rouge didn't say it in a mean way or anything, it was just her saying that, that made him switch gear's, like when she said that a little spark appeared in his brain and he realized he was doing the wrong thing not helping with the avalanche, it's ethier one person being taken out by him, the one who started the avalanche, or 100's with the avalanche if he didn't do anything.
he realizes it QUICK too.
He doesn't back talk to rouge or anything, he just immediately know's she's right, i feel like shadow has had the most respect for rouge in general in this comic, he seem's more nice to her more then anything, so her telling him that, hits him harder.
I love after this too shadow admits his "debt re-paid for sunset city." to sonic, It's like he wants to be a bit nicer to sonic after he was being selfish towards him when they were on the rollercoaster track.
He even smiles genuinely too when sonic and him are done with the tree's to block the avalanche.
you gotta realize.
This is literally the first time he's smiled in idw.

he did a small smirk when he was going after starline, but this is the first time hes smiled, genuinely.
it's easy to think shadow is just a cold hearted person in this comic from a surface level, but he really is still a good person, he's just going through his own little arc in this comic where he has to learn to not only think about himself, and I'd say hes getting better.
Even this scene is good.
it's good cause this is another thing adding to his arc.
shadow even staying around after the day is saved is amazing, because in the last two arc's when all evil was done, and everyone was safe, he left, he went somewhere else, but NOW HES STAYING AROUND, HES WITH THE GANG A LITTLE BIT.
sure he isnt WITH them, like he isn't in the house or anything with the gang, hes just close by, feeling comfortable to be even slightly around his friend's is a good step, he's thinking about people around him, he isn't just thinking about himself and leaving, he's staying close.
its great.

Ladybugs yo-yo: The necessary but fatal Miracle Box shortcut:
It is interesting how much in s4 ends up as "damned if you do, damned if you don't", Ladybug using her yo-yo as a shortcut to the Miracle box for example:
In "Heart hunter" Marinette accidentally lead Hawkmoth to Fu by not detransforming before going to him to get a miraculous (the dragon) which ended in Fu giving her his guardianship in "Miracle Queen" to safe the day, and to avoid the same accidental mistake from happening again if she herself were return back home when she needs more miraculous for the battles Marinette chose to use her yo-yo as a shortcut to the Miracle box in s4.
On its own this makes sense and for the battle purposes it was a very good solution, but it also opened the path to directly go around the safety measure of the miraculous box and insider knowledge being NEEDED to get the miraculous that literally saved the heros in "Miracle Queen".
Because when Marinette chose to create the shortcut to her yo-yo and it then backfired in "Strike Back", as it honestly was to be expected in hindsight, Marinette also unfortunately ended up proofing Su-Han right to some solid degree that Guardians shouldn't be miraculous holders because through the yo-yo the Miraculous weren't under the protection of the guardian girl underneath the mask anymore who relies on the box to keep the miraculous safe but LADYBUG who cannot risk upholding this upmost important rule.
In "Miracle Queen" we saw that once Ladybug obtained the guardianship and the miracle box was changed neither Hawkmoth nor Chloe were able to use it anymore, so if the yo-yo shortcut hadn't existed in s4 then even if Félix had somehow managed to fetch the box itself Gabriel wouldn't have been able to do anything with it since he cannot open it
But she still needed an easier, much more safer day to day way of getting miraculous for the battles even if the yo-yo doesn't provide the same safety lock. So Hawkmoth ended up being able to get past the Miracle box' restrictions that screwed up his victory in "Miracle Queen" even if Marinette hasn't gotten the Box stolen from her which she dutifully hide away safely.
It's a damned if you do and damned if you don't. It unfortunately proofs Su-Han right but at the same time it's absolutely not that clear-cut either (and I'm not sure if Su-Han is even aware that she created a yo-yo shortcut and therefore couldn't bring this safety danger up towards her which definitely breaks guardians rules, we will have to wait for s5 to answer that because that's a plot point I can easily see the show simply having saved for after "Strike Back").
It was a logical thing to do for her Ladybug-Guardian situation and for the purpose Marinette relied on this shortcut it absolutely did its job perfectly, that's no question from the practical battle angle. But from the other angles it still remained a highly risky move she bet the safety of the miraculous on and this active risk she took the whole season ended up backfiring in the end
It's honestly a tragedy
because there wasn't a clear path she could have gone instead that would have 100% avoided a different negative outcome from happening either and she just didn't saw it or didn't wanted to do it. And yet this outcome is still no surprise at all concidering the gaping safety hole Marinette accidentally opened for someone to slip by through a single mistake by having created the yo-yo shortcut:
