!!!please read!!!

hi guys! I usually don’t post these types of things or like to talk about my personal life, but I recently came out to my father as bisexual and it did not go as planned. he does not support my decision and is going to stop helping me with my tuition. FAFSA doesn’t give me enough to cover my meal plans. I am a sophomore in college and I am struggling to make ends meet so even if you could donate a dollar, it would be so helpful! if you can’t, I totally understand but please reblog this post to spread the word!

sending light and love your way.

-Xtina

hello Tumblr family, thank you so much for your support. please keep reblogging as I am not near my goal and time is running out. thank you for all of the kind messages.

TRANS SISTERS, PLEASE LISTEN: Do you realize how detrimental it is to trans women everywhere when you imprint the idea that we are violent, that we attack cis women, that we invade and overwhelm a female speaker in a manner UNCOMFORTABLY SIMILAR to the way this woman -an abuse survivor- has been overwhelmed and intimidated by MEN??

Do you realize that the Weinstein rep used this incident against McGowan, to trash-talk her in the media? ARE YOU GETTING THIS? Andi Dier caused an incident that benefited Harvey Winstein’s PR, and caused the most vocal of Weinstein’s accusers to cancel her book tour. Do you understand? A trans woman just helped one of the most toxic sexual predators of our time, *attacked the victim*, causing her to lose her composure while on stage, caused her to be so shaken that she cancelled further appearances.

There is an old expression, “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” Dier did not prove herself to be a friend of the #MeToo movement, or a friend of victims of sexual abuse. By default, by RESULT, she proved herself to be a friend of Harvey Fucking Weinstein. LET THAT SINK IN.

At least there are actually TIMs who disagree with TRAs defending Dier and have some sort of touch with reality and an ounce of empathy. Notice though how important it is to note that Rose McGowan is not a “terf”. But at least it’s a step in the right direction…

Long post, I apologize, but I saw this and I am stunned.

there’s no point appealing to their compassion. they have none.

Like, he realizes how serious it is. He knows. He just doesn’t care. He doesn’t care about being complicit in someone else’s suffering, as long as the person who’s suffering is a woman he can jerk off to.

This is what hatred looks like.

There’s something more Insidious than hatred at work in the rapists mind especially when they rape children or Advocate the sexualization and therefore rape of children; apathy. Men evolve their hatred of women and girls into dangerous nefarious apathy. This state of constant apathy allows them to commit monstrous inhuman acts, all seeded from their desire their depravity and their darkest secret selves. I truly believe that the Ascension from hatred into apathy creates the evil in man. It is all consciousness. A man’s body is not a rapist. it is his mind and his Consciousness that which contains who he is that decides to be a rapist, he makes a conscious decision to be a rapist and promoting rape is as Insidious and effective as rape itself. That is what evil is.

Because this event is her book signing and it’s about her book. Surprise: She’s allowed to focus on women and women’s issues. Trying to publicly shame her into caring about trans identified males will not get you the reaction you wanted.

what about this is supposed to be “proof she’s evil” or whatever??? that pink haired dude just keeps screaming how she doesn’t care about him ~personally~ she says she does and it sends him into an even bigger male rage tantrum??? like is op insane? did we watch the same video?

btw I have no idea who either of them are and why they’re supposed to be *~problematique~*

dudes gonna dude.

Most, if not all, of women’s issues do not apply to trans women.

Most, if not all, trans women do not pass as female.

Trans women are not victimized for “being women” - they are victimized for being trans.

Female reproductive health issues apply to “cis” women and trans men, not to trans women.

Trans women will not suffer heavy consequences if Planned Parenthood is defunded by the federal government.

Trans women do not suffer the effects of culturally-upheld menstrual taboos, government-funded forced sterilizations, or insufficient medical knowledge of their reproductive health.

Crying “what about me” and feeling left out when female individuals discuss issues specific to their anatomy is male entitlement.

Silencing people from talking about their female reality is misogyny.

A combination of women’s issues and trans issues are focused on trans women in every way, including biological (if you develop boobs, you’ll need access to bras - if you pass as female, you’re facing the same discrimination as any other woman, except for reproductive rights).

The generalization that most trans women don’t pass doesn’t mean they don’t experience oppression for both being a woman and being trans, especially by TERFs who will treat them like men in dresses and deny them the fact that they do experience misogyny that is separate from being trans in that trans men are less likely to experience violence and rejection than their trans sisters because masculinity, even in terms of expression and gender, is still more valuable than femininity and therefore they experience violence for being women.

Trans women can be on hormones that make them develop boobs, which is a secondary sex trait that then can create health issues like breast cancer and fibrocystic breasts which are worse in some cases than the same issue with cis women because most trans women will be raised and therefore socialized and educated as men, leaving them less educated on how to identify and handle these health issues, not to mention trans women are statistically less likely to be hired and therefore are less likely to afford the care they would need.

Trans women will suffer from defunded Planned Parenthood because Planned Parenthood offers HRT services that will allow trans women to have safety in passing and overall better mental health due to transitioning.

Trans women do suffer from total lack of recognition from the government about everything from the fact that it’s still illegal for them to go to the bathroom to it costing hundreds (if we’re counting fully transitioning, thousands) of dollars just to have your name and gender legally documented.

Your first response to trans women being in feminist forums being that trans women don’t experience similar - if not worse - oppression than cis women and therefore they don’t belong in said forums is one of many that makes for a divided feminist community where we could tackle overlapping issues that oppress women from both angles, keeping Planned Parenthood being one of them.

Assuming that trans women wanting rights to feminist spaces where they belong is silencing cis feminists is exactly the issue I’m trying to tackle.

I understand that you legitimately think trans women suffer greater at the hands of oppression than women, but you should really try not to argue form that viewpoint 1. because it’s false and 2. because it makes you sound like a liar.  Which is why all I could think about reading your response is that bolding something doesn’t emphasize your points in any meaningful way, citing does.  So could you provide sources for the claims that

trans men experience less violence and rejection than trans women breast cancer in trans women is worse than in actual women trans women are statistically less hired than who? Be specific, the answer “cis women” will not be accepted, you have to show me stats where trans women are less likely to be hired than black women, latina women, native women, immigrant women, prostituted women, etc.

It is not illegal for trans women to use the bathroom, it is illegal for males to utilize public female restrooms and that’s not even true in a lot of places.

Radical feminists who focus their activism on fighting sex based oppression are not oppressing trans women.  People acknowledging your sex is not oppression.  Hurt feelings and dysphoria are not oppression.

i want to protect every young girl in the world being wrongly sexualized and forced to grow up way too fast

The 13-year-old girl from Stranger Things:

Her 15-year-old male costar:

JFC why can’t they leave that poor girl alone???

What’s sexual about this? @sespursongles

Gee i dunno, maybe the way they had her spread her legs and make an o-face???

She has to pose, he gets to play

Asking “what’s sexual about this” is almost insidous. Sure, she’s not naked and she’s not performing any sexual acts, but that’s not what sexualization necessarily means. The girl-child is looking longinly, languishingly into the camera. She has her legs in a short dress spread, her lips separated, and very much make-up making her look older. She is passive, for the camera/viewer, while the boy is active, joking, playing, relaxed and as a child, respected as a child. I’m sure someone might say, “but that’s you sexualizing her, with your gaze” but come on, who are we kidding here? We know the industry sexualizes young girls, we know this isn’t a coinscidence. We know this is the pattern, the model for woman according to the male gaze or woman performing for the male gaze, and we know she is 13 and that everyone knows she is. And we know this destroys girls.

she’s. wearing. heels.

that’s sexual enough for me.

The person who asked “what’s sexual about this” is a fucking ‘map ally’. Bih fuck off.

anyway black women are having miscarriages in Flint and there has yet to be an outrage from the “pro-life” community

can we call this a genocide yet?

keep in mind this is a MAN-MADE health crisis. they changed the water of a lower-income black community for a reason. 12 people have died so far because of the water and now the women are suffering from miscarriages. this story needs as much attention as possible. a black community is still being poisoned and pro-lifers don’t seem to give a shit

I am so tired of men using consent language about things other than sex. “I didn’t consent to having a child, so I shouldn’t have to pay child support.” Sorry bud it doesn’t work like that. I didn’t consent to being hit by a car but I still have medical bills.

woman making a post on tumblr dot com: due to the countless ways that men abuse, manipulate, exploit and degrade women on a daily basis and the social and personal trauma i’ve endured from them i don’t feel safe near them and would not be with one because in my experience men as a whole do not value women as people

that one chick, inevitably: what about my amazing boyfriend chad? we’ve been together seven years and he’s only called me a bitch 4 times

1) Vancouver Rape Relief and Women’s Shelter (VRR) is Canada’s oldest rape crisis center. Established in 1973, VRR operates as a feminist collective and operates a 24-hour rape crisis centre and shelter for women and children trying to escape male violence. They also do a ton of education in the community and are a foundational center to the Canadian women’s movement. Support them today with a donation!

2) Inner City Helping Homeless provides a frontline outreach service covering the city of Dublin. Homelessness is something that all too often forces women and girls into prostitution — as SPACE explains, “Many of our members had to enter the sex trade due to homelessness and poverty and being targeted by pimps while sleeping rough.” The charity recently turned down a donation of nearly €2,000 from Escort Ireland, the largest sex trade profiteer in this country. What integrity! Consider helping them out with a donation.

3) The Native Women’s Association of Canada (NWAC) helped lead the push for a federal inquiry into the missing and murdered women and is also an abolitionist organization, advocating for the Nordic model. They state:

“NWAC’s position is that prostitution exploits and increases the inequality of Aboriginal women and girls on the basis of their gender, race, age, disability and poverty…

… Aboriginal women are grossly overrepresented in prostitution and among the women who have been murdered in prostitution. It is not helpful to divide women in prostitution into those who ‘choose’ and those who are ‘forced’ into prostitution. In most cases, Aboriginal women are recruited for prostitution as girls and/or feel they have no other option due to poverty and abuse. It is the sex industry that encourages women to view prostitution as their chosen identity.”

Founded in 1973, NWAC has long been an integral feminist voice and advocate for Indigenous women in Canada. Please do support them in any way you can.

4) The Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF) intervenes in cases on behalf of women and girls to defend our right to equality. LEAF’s first case, back in 1985, challenged a law in the Yukon that prevented married women from changing their names to their birth name. This year, LEAF intervened in the  inquiry into the conduct of victim-blaming Justice Robin Camp. Thanks, in large part, to their work, the Canadian Judicial Council recommended the removal of Camp from his position as judge. Consider supporting their work with a donation.

5) The EVA Center out of Boston, MA aims to empower women who have been prostituted and support them to exit the commercial sex industry. The EVA Center is committed to ending commercial sexual exploitation and advocates for the Nordic model. Founded by Cherie Jimenez, a survivor of the sex trade (and a member of SPACE), this project is unique in that it is survivor-led organization. We desperately need more organizations like EVA — especially in the U.S., where social services and support for marginalized, exploited women is so lacking. Send them a donation if you can!

6) Ruhama is a frontline service that began its work in 1989, as an outreach service to women in street-based prostitution. Based in Dublin, the organization has assisted over 2,500 women from over 60 countries during its 25+ years in operation. As well as assisting and supporting women to exit prostitution and recover from the experience of sex trafficking, Ruhama is a powerful voice in the fight against commercial exploitation. Send them a donation over the holidays, if you can!

7) Coalition Against Trafficking in Women (CATW) is an NGO that works to end human trafficking and the commercial sexual exploitation of women and children worldwide. Since 1988, CATW has been an international leader in the fight to find human rights-based solutions to the problem of commercial sexual exploitation, is the world’s first organization to fight human trafficking internationally, and is the world’s leading abolitionist organization. In 2010, CATW led the successful protest in front of Craigslist’s corporate headquarters in San Francisco that resulted in the removal of their “Adult Services” section, which was facilitating sex trafficking in the US and internationally. Last year, CATW was a leading voice in the global protests against Amnesty International’s position supporting the legalization of prostitution. Their work has been pivotal in the global feminist movement — please support their work today!

The holidays are over but this counts all year round!

ALWAYS A GOOD TINE TO HELP OURS SISTERS WHEN WE CAN.
