About Redbubble
Redbubble has announced they’re changing to a tiered system where the lowest account tier has a large portion of their profits taken away. This is to encourage artists to climb the arbitrary, vaguely defined tier ladder by working on promotion, following trends etc. (How very Youtube.)
It seems they’re hoping to no longer follow the business model of providing a service for creators and taking their cut, but rather the one where creators work for them, yet aren’t considered employees and thus don’t need to be fairly compensated for their work.
I don’t put effort into Redbubble, and fair enough, I make a minuscule amount of money from sales. The only reason I uploaded art there in the first place was requests from people who wanted a print of my work; I thought it was sweet and Redbubble provided an no-fuss method to fulfill those wishes. Every now and then I’d get a notification that someone’s bought themselves a Meester Pigwig sticker, and I thought that was sweet too.
It’s hard to care about the pennies I personally gained from those sticker sales. However what I do feel more strongly about is the thought that from now on they’ll go to fund this shift in Redbubble’s attitude and implicitly tell them that they have my support, when in truth I disapprove.
That’s why I’ll be deleting my Redbubble account by the start of May when the changes take place. If you want a print of any of my works from there, go grab it now!
Pigwig stickers, Gravity Falls prints, forest critters, whatnot else. (My Redbubble shop is a random mess of poor salesmanship for sure, no wonder they want me to put more effort to it. But if I wanted to put effort into salesmanship I’d make my own shop where my margins are better.)
I forgot to post about the result of my recent Global Game Jam adventure, but here it is! Enjoy atmospheric soundtracks, damp caves full of oversized pottery, and dissociating with anxiety? Here’s the game for you.

Time for a round of finding motivation to practice sketching poses by turning them into a fictional character
Would you ever make a print of "Sunlight and Shade"? Every time I see it, something in my heart eases a little and my brain does a happy dance.
