I've been on a bit of a nostalgic Yugioh kick for the past week or two, so I thought I'd share my very favorite bit of furigana/spelling shenanigans.

Hope you're ready to see me write, like, an entire second bonus dissertation on tiny subtle orthography choices in my favorite Yugioh character's name!

Guys I gotta talk about Yugioh characters' pronouns

and by pronouns I mean the second-person pronouns that they use for other people

and by yugioh characters I mean exclusively bakura

me after joining the ygo fandom

I'm noticing a distinct lack of "lore" on those plates. Is that not your style, or have you not yet discovered the lore blogs?

I'm reading the Yugioh manga and Marik's goal is to be the next king/pharaoh but like wouldn't it be cute if he really was inspired by stories of Thief King Bakura? Like yes, logically Marik wouldn't have heard of him/been allowed to read something on TKB even if records existed, but...consider...how cute it'd be. And how funny it is to accidentally end up partnering with TKB. I will never let go of this concept. Other people have suggested the same because it makes sense. (I know it ain't real, but we like to have fun here)

Always loved the idea that Marik Ishtar had a crush on Thief King Bakura (so that would mean Yami Marik would love him too) <3

Something I haven't seen anyone else talk about yet which kinda bums me out is how the fruits and vegetables in pikmin 4 look so FUCKING good. I found a zucchini last night and my god I wanted to eat it so bad.

This is literally the epitome of graphics.

I've never played this game and am now fascinated that the bananas and ONLY the bananas have a produce sticker on them.

Lovely things we got from the eng dub is how much more Tsundere Kaiba could get towards Yugi and I love That 😂😂

In the virtual world Kaiba asked Mokie how did he get here, and Mokies says he asked for Yugi's Help- and Kaiba really

"What! You know how I feel about Yugi Mutou!"

And Mokie goes "But idk who else to turn to :(" (UGH MY HEART IT MEANS YUGIS ONE OF THE ONLY PEOPLE HE TRUSTS)

And Kaiba huffs growls away "Anyone else!"

And then will procees to seek out Yugi again on his own, OKAY you tsundere ass 😂

Listen, I love the 😈+😈 dynamic these two have, but from time to time I just want to see them being just goofy little dorks ... they deserve the fluff.

the problem with fanfiction is that theres too many coffeeshop aus and not enough aus where the characters are trapped in an alivehouse psychological horror situation or perhaps a labyrinth of sorts

You can read a pretty good summary of it here, but as (most likely) Ashkenazi Jews, PP probably follows the minhag (custom) that says “that by naming a newborn child after a deceased loved one, the soul lives on through the child.” (Quoted from the site linked above.) And given how his Uncle Ben died, it just makes it all the more sadder tbh.
