Don't get me wrong, I don't want to be frightening. I still want grandmas to think I'm a nice young lad. I just think it's vital to my health that I am bewildering and slightly indecipherable

When you Feel Like a Failure

1. It’s important to remember that you’re not alone. There are SO MANY OTHERS who feel the same way, too.

2. Remember it’s a pattern and you often feel this way. You know your inner critic always seeks to bring you down!

3. Remind yourself you’re trying to make progress and to change. Your heart is in the right place – so be patient with yourself.

4. Forgive yourself for failing or for saying something stupid. Cut yourself some slack, forget it, let it go, and start again.

5. Try to spend time with people who accept you as you are, and who sees your strengths and good points, your potential, and true worth.

6. Don’t think about your failures. They are firmly in the past. Visualise yourself being someone that you’re proud of, and you like!

7. Be kind, and understanding and gentle with yourself. You’ll find you feel much better if you don’t demand so much.

Weird Dice Wednesday

I believe they’re still around, and have other lines of dice as well, but at the time I got this die (and a few others of theirs), Crystal Caste was known for one thing: they made polyhedral dice that were a different shape than the standard ones. I believe that’s something other companies do now too, but this was a while ago — I bought them because of a print ad in Dragon Magazine, to give you an idea of the era. Most of the neat little crystal-shaped dice are great; they roll well and look cool. The d4 is actually more intuitive than the caltrop-style ones we’ve all seen. It’s a little harder to distinguish between them because they’re all roughly the same shape, but you get used to it.

But the d20… well, it was pretty much immediately banned from our table. (Okay, “table” is talking it up, I got this when I was a kid and my sibling & I usually just sat on the basement floor for games.) Twenty thin, wedge-shaped sides make it less of a crystal and more of a cylinder. When you roll it, it just keeps going, and when/if it stops, you have to look close to see what side is uppermost. I think it’s pretty unambiguous, but my sibling and our friend C insisted there was too much room for interpretation. The other crystal dice were neat, and I think I still have most of them somewhere, but the d20 is virtually unusable.

I genuinely don’t remember where it came from, and I’ve yet to find a use for it, but here’s a d60. And a d30 of the same design next to it for reference.

CRUNCHY LEAVES

I still can't get over jinx purring. I never knew how happy he was or how much he loves me. he's been purring since I got home, every time I say hi to him. my husband says he's always purring like that, I just never heard it before

yes!! when we came home and I called him downstairs for some food I heard him leap off the bed I think and his excited patters down the stairs

food in frying pans really do be sizzling...

the sound of old crinkly book pages oh my GOD I have found my new favourite sound

went down to the village river and it was so nice!! the river is pretty low rn because of the lack of rain but when it rains lots I want to go back and see it go fast and hear it

also! hearing the rustle of grass as I walk through it!

and and and i threw a stone into the water and it made a very satisfying splash sound :)

popped my hearing aid on when I woke up and just listened to my husband breathe next to me. he's here, I get to wake up next to my best friend every day. he's alive. he loves me.

then he started snoring very loudly and it was even worse with the amplified sound
