I had another thought: I think it's revealing of people's prejudices against transfems when they assume any of us gently suggesting that someone might be a trans woman comes from a place of not respecting their gender/gender non-conformity, rather than a trans woman extending a kindness which she wishes she had received earlier in her own life. Transfems are assumed to have ill intentions by default and our actions are considered to be inherently harmful, so even suggesting that someone shares our gendered experiences gets treated as an act of violence instead of empathy (or you know, a fucking joke at the expense of cisnormativity). We don't have the power to overwhelm society's demand for everyone to be cis! Like, maybe trans women aren't always the bad guy in literally every possible conceivable situation!

And like let's be honest, lots of people are just kind of disgusted with trans women as a concept (or like are just normal about women in general) so the idea of there being more of us is an inherently undesirable situation to them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
