27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with?

oh, a great question! to be honest, I feel like I don't do much to intentionally warm up - it's not something that often comes to mind as something I need to do! I often dive right into drawing after I get off work... and it's possible what I do at work (graphic design) helps warm me up.

otherwise, I find that doing studies helps me relax and get in the groove more so than other art. or, if not studies, art that I feel is a bit more fun or indulgent. the more I've done art the more I find I'm worse with warming up/sketches/keeping things loose - so for me it's a matter of looking away from responsibilities to do what I want for a little while, even if it's not a traditional "warm up."

this is definitely an area I need to improve on!
