They are engaged locally throughout the nation attacking the LGBT community, intimidating city councils, and terrorizing school boards.
It's now a ground level civil war. Everywhere. These people aren't like some kind of obvious, hitleresque monsters you can pick out of a lineup. They're mothers who are worried their kid is being called a different gender at school, because they're monstrous idiots, but that's not how they see it. They're trying to prepare their kids for the world they want to live in, a patriarchal hierarchy with whites and especially evangelicals at the tippy top forcing everyone to live how they say. And to them, this is an incredibly desirable and obvious direction for the country to go. That it's such obvious bullshit to anyone else is immaterial, because if you oppose them, you've been seduced by Satan and have to be oppressed to become godly. (Again, being pressured into following their interpretation of their religion is a good thing to them. They're saving your soul) we can't just expect this to be handled at a federal level, it has to be local. And that's scary, because they already run the cops and local courts.
