TL;DR - Cale meets Tang Clan matriarch. Misunderstandings again. Poison souvenir.

Cale and the Tang Clan Not much happened today. We get a new character called "Poison Queen" Tang Yu, the Tang Clan matriarch. The answer she chose was "incompetence," and on behalf of her clan, she apologized for what happened.

Tang Ho, the one who spoke rudely to Cale, was pretty much guaranteed to be expelled from the clan, given that the matriarch was colder to her own blood relatives.

Misunderstandings Again As usual, the funny parts of this chapter are the misunderstandings:

Poison Souvenirs Some touching family moments here! 🥰Cale wanted to give Hong some poisons from the Tang Clan and Pinnacle Demon as souvenirs. Also some thoughts of how Cale wants Hong to become stronger.

The requested poison was the Tang Clan's compensation to Cale for their "incompetence" and disrespect to him. The clan planned to give Cale the 1st, 7th, and 8th poisons from the Nine Kings, which are nine different kinds of poison that the Tang Clan considered their treasure.

Ending Remarks The question was resolved this chapter for the Tang Clan. Not sure about the other two schools because the chapter only showed them greeting Cale. Anyway, next chapter will be Cale getting a new power up for his Water AP. Perhaps another info dump too?

Damian's new classmate was what most people would deem as strange, Damian however could not see him as anything other than suspicious. Daniel Knight had joined in the midst of the school year, claiming to have moved here with his father Fredric Knight (first area of suspicion, a parent willingly moving both them and their child to Gotham) for a new start following his fathers divorce. The boy was reclusive when not spoken to directly, however he would not stop talking when a topic of his interest would come up. After searching further into his past (as he does with all his classmates) Damian found a relatively normal past, the only outstanding things being a noticeable drop in grades at the beginnings of freshman year relating to an undisclosed accident resulting in lichtenberg scarring starting from Daniels palm, and presumably up his arm being hidden by his sleeve. Apparently this accident left Daniel with irregular tremors and, every once in a blue moon, seizures. Damian had thought about taking this suspicious blockage of information to Tim or the Bat Computer to be bypassed, however the idea of sharing Daniel this cases existence with the rest of his family for some unexplained reason bothered him greatly, so Damian has come to the decision to figure out Knight’s true intentions on his own.

Meanwhile Danny’s just trying to live his new, semi-normal life in peace. After a reveal gone wrong results in some good old vivisection, Jazz Sam and Tucker recruit the help of Clockwork to find Danny a new home, where he can heal from both the physical and mental wounds. Clockwork ends up dumping Danny into the DC universe alongside Fright Knight, who was insistent on going with him, feeling responsible in helping to protect his young prince now since he feels he failed the first time. So with a bit of spacetime razzle dazzle, Tucker messing with stuff he probably shouldn't have messed with and a very tearful goodbye with promises to check in every day, Danny goes off to start his new life as Daniel Knight. It was going ok so far, he took half the year to himself, focusing on healing. Also so Frighty could adjust to the whole pretending to be human thing. Danny doesn't have any friends yet, and to be honest hasn't made the effort to make any (Jazz would be disappointed if she knew that), but there's this one boy in Danny's class who might be even weirder than him. Danny can feel Damian's eyes on him, knows how he follows him around without a sound (Danny really shouldn't be able to tell, he only knows because he isn't fully human(and in a weird way, Danny thinks that's kinda cool)), and whenever they do make eye contact Danny can see and feel the boy fluster and shy away.

Maybe he just needs a friend too.

okay a bit out of topic but now I can't the image out of my head of fright night doing all these part time jobs to seem more human and being an awesome single father to danny all the while he is completely oblivious to the growing numbers of admirers in the corner (many of them are villains)

Fright Knight accidentally amassing a fan club with the Gotham villains wasn't what I expected to imagine today but, now I'm going to be thinking about it...

I can just image Danny complaining to Fred about how much of a helicopter parent he is, but then is immediately being overprotective whenever a rogue makes advances towards fright knight and complaining to Damian about it as well

After winning a science fair, Danny's intellect gets noticed by a genius billionaire. That's how he ends up getting a scholarship to work personally under Lex Luthor at LexCorp. Cool! Who's Lex Luthor?

Danny: No? Why? The US government made it legal to hunt the entities. I mean. I free any they do catch before they can hurt them so...

Superman: Ok. Look. Lex is a villain. Please stop making him better weapons!

Superman: The kid was raised by mad scientists. He doesn't seem to grasp the moral issue with supplying weapons to a villain.

Batman: We will have to look into his family then.

Martian Manhunter: I can try to talk to him? See if he is being truthful?

Superman: Please do. His heart beat is so slow it's hard to know if he is lying. He doesn't have the same tells.

Can we make lex a good boss in this one? Like, amazing compensation, insurance, pay, etc. ? XD

For the kid who is on long out anti Superman weapons? He absolutely is! Danny is getting paid so well. All his medical is covered! Dental. Pension. Lex wants to keep this one. The fact that the kid ain't even phased by Superman? He may have just found a protege of his own!

as a bonus he has unlimited access to the machine that creates artificial space rock candy!

Danny snacks on the rock candy, and Lex starts having a bowl be made available in his workshop, which is awesome! Kinda a bummer how the reporter dude stopped coming around to bug him though, he was fun to mess with. Oh well! (Snacks on more tasty treats) Danny's not sure why, but the super-whatevers stopped bugging him as often (the connection between the candy he has in his pockets "for the road" and this happening does not cross his mind)

I agree !!- Lex supports unions, and encourages others to unionize and strike (the disruption makes his company stronger bc he treats his people well, making it easier to buy other companies and build his empire without discontent from the people. He knows the lengths people will go to when unhappy. As long as their needs are met (and slightly above), they do a lot more for him than they would for anyone else. And with less questions too! (And more loyalty. Less of a chance of someone giving up his.....side projects... to a member of the justice league.)

Oh my gosh - and if superman is slightly hostile or kinda pushy to any of lex's employees bc they work for him, they would dig their heels in about what they do and be even *less* likely to go to the league (maybe feel like they could go to their boss about their concerns? Bc he listened to their complaints about housing pricing going up by increasing wages around the board and even building dorm-like complexes for the interns). Maybe even see lex's hostility toward superman as semi justified?? (With how many times he's been mind controlled, can you blame a guy for wanting protection for himself and his employees?) Especially if the majority of employees aren't even part of anything sketchy

I like this idea that 2 of the best companies in the world, lexcorp and waine company are very professional employees (I don't know about starlab and I press x for valco) and that the other companies are still wondering how the hell they manage to have the best yields and the best employees 0o0 it's so mysterious

Plus to add on why Danny might like lex and not Justice League:

Amity Park has NEVER been visited by the league, even after Phantom has saved the world multiple times it still gets snubbed, no, they investigated amity park AFTER he was hired at lexcorp

the only leaguer that amity park likes is Constantine because he comes quietly, he came on his own initiative and he fucking asked if people needed help and gave some mystical cheap and safe tricks like salt paint to protect homes and the school. But he NEVER imposed on them, he was never really condescending when he described some regular ghosts like Ghost Boxing ect unlike the league which came much later (and had none of the info they had given to Constantine)

the Justice League has an awesome secret space station and has no agreement with NASA or otherwise to do any experiments (he found it by chance while floating in space on his weekend)

like the JL has a whole teleporter network and keeps it secret and underexploited (easily guessable with Batman's much too fast movements in other because yes Bruce making sure that Batman is in two places simultaneously makes you curious)

it was lex during his presidency who cut the funds to the GiW AND repatriated their technology (he used this to make anti super weapons but superman had just been mind controlled 3 times this month, not even his record , so it was understandable)

after investigation Lex made remove in the total indifference the ectolois for the old humans. Which isn't perfect but they take it

Bonus: He denounced Vlad in half words and annoys him so much. it's glorious

I see so many 'Lex was president and signed the Acts into being', but we need more 'Lex abolished the acts by for selfish reasons'

Like YES, he did defund the GIW and abolish the acts, but only because he doesn't believe in ghosts and wanted to ferry that money to a project of his choosing.

The excellent free PR he got from Illinois and Wisconsin constituants was just an added bonus... as was access to all of those weapons that ran on liquid green Kryptonite.

As a bonus, he got to piss off that half-wit Masters and expose him as being a meta with mind control abilities.
