I’m just an artistic goofball tryin’ to enjoy my existence in this wild, wild world. I love video games, animals, and food, and I’m considering looking into learning more languages for both character reasons and the obvious utility of being able to communicate with more people. I’ve got a lot (a LOOOOT) of fandoms, but those I’m currently focused on are Pokemon and Smile For Me, among others. Honestly, a good majority of Nintendo franchises are in my likes! Feel free to mention me in posts that you think I’d like, be it something you came across or something you made that was inspired by my stuff! You have no idea how much I love fanart omg

If we’re mutuals or you follow me, feel free to ask me if you need anything specific tagged. I usually try to tag things for organizational purposes as is, but I’m just as human as you are so I might miss things that I don’t think about. Or maybe seeing the word itself bothers you, that’s valid. In any case, if you need me to use a specific “(your name) don’t look” tag for things, let me know about that too!

I don’t reblog callout posts unless I have an actual understanding of the situation in full. Don’t try to get me to do so if I don’t know you, especially if you’re the only one calling the person out and your “evidence” is flimsy at best and misrepresented at worst. I’ve seen personal beef used to tear down innocent people too many times to not do my research or otherwise ignore it.

I freely and liberally block blogs that make me uncomfortable, including those promoting religious fundamentalism (of any religion), racism/racist dogwhistles, sexism, anti-queer rhetoric of any kind, ableism, militant veganism (ie. “everyone who eats meat is evil”), animal/child abuse (real or fictional, including non-platonic shipping kids with adults), f3t1sh blogs (ESPECIALLY those with a v0r3 focus), callout blogs, spambots, and empty blogs (seriously, just put a simple phrase like “not a bot, just lurking!” on your blog if you’re not gonna reblog anything, that’s like the bare minimum of indication that you’re a human user). You have been warned.

If you reblog my content and I’m not comfortable with it being on your blog, I will either politely ask you to remove reblogs or block you outright, depending on how uncomfortable I have been made. If I do the polite ask thing and you respond with mockery or some sort of “I do what I want” statement, I will block you because you clearly don’t respect boundaries. 💖

More Art Fight with a double feature, Val and Bernadette! I got a personal rule with doing Art Fight characters that go together: if a pair is listed as one, I will not separate them! Be they besties, sibs, or lovers, if there's two in the same character listing they're getting drawn together! And these two were a lot of fun to work with, though I feel like Bernadette's pose here doesn't reeeeaaally make as much sense as I'd like? I tried tho, that's what matters XD (also I tried to replicate the arm placement specifically irl and ummmm Woops I Hurt Myself i am not very flexible ^^; )

Color has been disappearing from the world.

A new research group used machine learning to track color changes in common materials and items, below is their findings for all color changes over time, they used 7000+ items from the 1800s to now to determine color changes in the most common items.

Below are the colors of cars by year, notice how the majority of cars are grey, white, or black compared to twenty years ago.

These aren't data points, but they are comparisons between the 'modern' homes of the 70s and 80s compared to the modern homes of today.

Carpets have equally had the same treatment of grey added to them! The most common color of carpet is now grey or beige.

Even locations that used to scream with color for decades have now modernized to becoming boring minimalist (and I love minimalism) personality-less locations.

The world is becoming colorless, why?

you can look at any folk culture around the world, past or present, and find the use of the entire color spectrum. humans are drawn to color, it holds emotional symbolism but it also reflects the land we live off of. I consider it like a celebration of life and our place in it

the problem is that we aren’t actually allowed to belong to the places we live. houses and entire towns are shells meant to be as plain as possible for the next renter, buyer, or investor. the more generic it is, the more consumers it can be sold to. And when you have a country that’s biggest population doesn’t have a distinct sense of cultural identity it will be reflected and mass produced without much complaint

people getting joy from the minimalist gray aesthetic is not the same as the estrangement this country is making between people and place, one of the most fundamental relationships humans need to survive (and be happy while doing it)

When I was buying my house, people were telling me not to paint it this or that color because it would be harder to sell later. Like, I haven't even bough the house and you're already telling me to sell it! I'm buying a house because I need a place to live! I want to live here until I die or manage to move to Europe! We are not supposed to actually own anything anymore. Not our houses or cars or furniture. We are supposed to be perpetually replacing these things, paying more each time around, until we break and die and our bones are the color of the walls around us.

I realize it’s just because they’re trying to introduce the audience to the concept of Pokemon and everything but nothing will ever be funnier to me than prof oak being like “these are creatures called Pokemon, they live in all sorts of environments!” like imagine if you met a biology professor and they were like ‘I’ve been studying these intriguing creatures called “animals’

I maintain that Pokemon starts to make a lot more sense when you stop thinking of the Professors as biologists and start thinking of them as children’s science communicators, which, in a world where children as young as 10 are expected to make their way in a world populated by superpowered fauna almost entirely alone, stands as an important and laudable career. “There are 150 animals” becomes the in-universe equivalent of “There are three states of matter.” There’s too much information in this field to dump on a grade-schooler all at once, so Professor Oak is here to mete out animal facts as they become relevant in an easy-to-understand way.

That being said, I would love to see what kind of shit the real Pokemon biologists are on. I’m just imagining some disheveled, overcaffienated researcher writing a grant proposal for their study on why certain wingull seem to evolve into pelipper faster when they hatched in the winter or something. There’s bird shit on their glasses. They haven’t left the lighthouse in months. This is their life’s work. Ash Ketchum doesn’t need to know about real Pokémon biology.
