for all its faults and eccentricities, the fast and furious franchise could've turned out so much more pro cop, misogynistic, toxically masculine, white washed and unfunny than it did. the fact that it does get laughs, goes around the world, has pretty diverse casting, some okayish criticisms of policing, and like, not bad messaging about the importance of love, connections and family? i'll take it
