These posts always without fucking fail bring up le exotic immigrant food because to them non-white cultures (and they *do* ofc mean non-white cultures I highly doubt they include hamburgers as "immigrant food" despite literally being named after a city in Germany) are literally just things to be consumed and shit out. If Tumblr was a novel it'd be too blunt a metaphor tbh.
here at the sandwich shop, we’ve started to notice some people who are new to sandwiches aren’t used to meat and cheese between two slices of bread. they find this practice strange and confusing. that’s why we’ve decided to cut the bread out all together. from now on, we’ll just serve slices of meat and cheese on a plate.
we know that many of our loyal sandwich shop customers have been coming here for years to buy our delicious sandwiches. but some people don’t “get” sandwiches, and we need to try and appeal to them with an easier-to-understand meal format. we will no longer be serving sandwiches. all of our food will just be cold cuts on a paper plate. we love our customers and appreciate your understanding <3

like i cannot stress enough that you cannot pick and choose which transgressive things can exist in your artistic sphere based on if they upset and shock you or not... that's undermining the entire point of artistic spheres that encourage transgression!
I heard reference to something about how all anime are required to have good looking cabbage because of That One Time. So simply looking up "anime cabbage" I found the source.
Some harem anime way back in the day had an episode where the characters cooked, and they animated cabbage so terribly like this it left a bad mark on the anime community forever. Apparently this is part of the reason why all food usually looks good in anime, even moreso than the regular show sometimes. With cabbage being especially well drawn.
