i've gotten some new followers lately and it's been a while since i properly introduced myself here so hi! i'm kate!

i'm in my final year of grad school for mental health counseling, and i have adhd, so i post about mental health and therapy stuff a lot. i've loved everything fantasy since i was a little kid, so youll see a lot of different fantasy fandoms here, especially books, video games, and tabletop stuff. i am particularly passionate about queer adult fantasy novels at the moment (Masquerade series, Locked Tomb, etc.)

i also dm games in my homebrew high fantasy setting Ailia (originally 5e, in process of switching to pf2e), write sometimes when i can get my brain to cooperate, paint miniatures, and take a lot of pictures of my cat. i am trying to start posting more of my creative endeavors here.

i'm really bad about tagging posts with anything except commentary but i try to tag common triggers and if there's something in particular anyone needs tagged please ask me and i will make an effort. actually you can ask me about practically anything, i like to talk.

reminder to worldbuilders: don't get caught up in things that aren't important to the story you're writing, like plot and characters! instead, try to focus on what readers actually care about: detailed plate tectonics

"But that is not what Avowed, as it currently exists, is going to be. "I think over the course of time as we worked on it… Bethesda makes an awesome Skyrim. Mojang makes an awesome Minecraft, and Turn10 makes awesome racing games," says Urquhart, referencing a handful of Obsidian's sister studios at Microsoft. "What we do is we make our awesome RPGs, right?"

For Avowed, the focus is going to be specifically on your companions, and how their story relates to the driving narrative of the game. "We could go off and create an 8km x 8km open world and then deal with all the consequences of that—because that makes it a different style game. But we want to tell more confined stories that the player can experience with their companions, and then move from part of the world to part of the world. And, like I said, in the end, that's us."
#THIS is what makes me excited about the game#still sad about only being able to play a human or an elf but#when they start talking about story i go 👀
