I got some of these recently and they’re AWESOME. I am still recovering from a harrowing experience with an IUD my body didn’t like, so I bleed pretty much constantly, with 3-5 day reprieves. So having the cloth pantiliner or pad instead of commercial disposable ones, is fucking awesome. No leaking, less dry skin, no wet feeling, more comfortable, less waste - I can’t find a downside. I just rinse them out and let them dry, and then put them in the washer and dryer with the rest of my laundry. Fantastic.

As the child of a European immigrant who’s grown up in the American South, I have legitimately had a glass of iced tea in one hand and a cup of hot tea in the other.

“As a therapist with a specialty in marriage and family with focus on abusive relationships, something that I’ve found quite odd this season is how a handful of fans try to claim that Lena is abusive and then continue to dismiss Mon-el’s behavior. He was a textbook abusive boyfriend, exhibiting a constant pattern of red flags: lack of respect/boundary crossings, controlling/possessiveness, lying, guilting, berating in public and private, and encouraged isolation. That’s how he acted throughout their entire relationship after their first introduction (which was him trying to kill her). And that behavior built on his background of misogyny and slave owning just isn’t a good look. Additionally, when people say he changed, I’d ask how? Because Brainy once called Mon-el’s treatment of him “traumatic” and during season 3 he was emotionally cheating on his wife of seven years (that he appeared to truly love, given Imra’s introduction). A couple standard “good deeds” and having characters constantly and randomly call him a “good man” in season 3, doesn’t actually show that he changed or grew.

With Lena, the word “abusive” gets thrown around so callously. If anything, she’s an abuse victim from the Luthors. Yes, she treated Kara poorly this past season and their dynamic was undoubtedly unhealthy, but it wasn’t a pattern that delineates abuse and they weren’t in a romantic relationship— relationships which have different dynamics, so it’s not really comparable to Mon-el. The actual pattern that Lena has displayed throughout her friendship with Kara and partnership with Supergirl is that she’ll come and help at the drop of a hat. She’s always respected and encouraged Kara as a friend and reporter, and she’s saved Supergirl’s life multiple times— even when they had their Kryptonite rift. The 100th episode literally showed how important and good their relationship was. Season five was a reactive phase where Lena made terrible decisions based on trauma from her past with betrayal from people she loved AND Lena’s idea that Kara didn’t really care for her, because Supergirl treated her completely differently. I’m not excusing her actions, but it’s important to note that his mistreatment of Kara: 1. came from a place of pain 2. was preceded by YEARS of love and respect 3. had a an honest redemption after she finally woke the f*** up and realized how wrong she was. Pretty much the opposite of Mon-el.

Whether you like certain characters/ships or not, it’s important to actually look at the legitimate show content and have a real understanding of words you use. Claiming someone is “abusive” cause it’s an easy buzzword, just doesn’t work and it’s why fandoms start looking dumb. People need to start using “unhealthy” for dynamics that are rocky, but not legitimately abusive.”
