Just thinking about people making year-end summaries of their accomplishments and also about reasons to keep yourself alive through the next year. Sorry, it’s a bit of a sappy comic.

QORDS is a week-long sleepaway music camp for queer and trans youth in NC! It is a vehicle for expressing gender and sexuality, and harbors an environment of self-discovery and social change.
There are two separate weeks, one for 12-14 year-olds (July 21-26) and one for 15-17 year-olds (July 28-August 2). For each week, campers learn new instruments, attend workshops, form bands, collaboratively create new music, and put on a performance at the end of the week.
Applications for campers, counselors, and volunteers are open until the end of March; don't hesitate to sign up!
People who are pansexual are:
- attracted to persons regardless of their gender
- and/or attracted to all genders
- people with a really pretty PRIDE flag
we are not:
- special bisexual snowflakes
- calling bi people transphobic
- confused
Also bisexuality is an awesome and valid identity and you can pry my bi/pan solidarity from my cold dead hands
People who are bisexual are:
- Attracted to two or more genders
- Can be attracted to all genders but prefers to use bisexual as a term/label
- People with a really cool pride flag
We are NOT:
- Transphobic
- Disregarding of nonbinary genders
- Confused
Shout-out to my pan siblings btw! Y'all are great! Anyone who disagrees can pry bi/pan solidarity from my cold, dead fingers
Woo! Yes!
As you may or may not know, TDOV is right around the corner!
Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV for short) is a day to show your support for the trans community that happens every year on March 31st!
TDOV aims to bring attention to the collective accomplishments of trans people around the globe and to the need for trans liberation. We are here to fight transphobia and cissexism by empowering the trans community worldwide! This year’s theme is Decolonize Gender (#DecolonizeGender ). Gender is a colonial tool that has been used to oppress folks, especially trans and gender non conforming people. We would like to thank our new Social Media Manager, Mel Miguel, for coming up with this theme.
Don’t forget to use #TDOV and #DecolonizeGender ! Learn more at www.transstudent.org/tdov
Our clinician, Kevin Dorman (they/them), was recently interviewed on the podcast “Private Practice Success Stories!” Listen to hear about our #originstory and our goals for 2019!
Do you get #transhealth info from social media? How about your doctor?
My article was recently published on Transgender Health journal! It is open access and available to all.
For decades, trans patients have been filling in the gaps of their own care, often out of fear and distrust of medical professionals. Instead of relying on providers, patients frequently look inwards toward their community for medical knowledge and advice. Social media, in particular, enables this self-serve model to thrive.
In this article, we discuss how providers and researchers can begin addressing these specific barriers by engaging directly with trans voices across all health care touchpoints. Social media provides a useful tool through which the medical community can connect with transgender patients to learn firsthand about their real needs and experiences, subsequently informing practice, education, and research.
Check out the Campaign for Southern Equality's awesome new edition of the #TransInTheSouth Guide, which maps 400+ vetted trans-friendly service providers across 13 states in the South.
Before / After Transgender Vocal Training
Above is a composite of several recordings of a recently discharged transfeminine client who gave us permission to post her results. The first third is this former client's baseline voice (average 93 Hz); the latter two-thirds are two different mixes of this client's voice she liked, recorded on the day of discharge (1st mix avg 133 Hz; 2nd mix avg 181 Hz).
Members of the transgender community face immense adversity and still have the bravery to be ourselves; in this climate, there is no act more radical. #tdor2018 #wontbeerased
We’ve lost too many of our trans friends and family members. May their legacies be a light to the world.
