Hey guys, just a heads up. There's a serial killer in the greater Atlanta area (as of August 1st, 2021 there have been at least 3 murders attributed to the same killer and they've all been killed and mutilated horrifically in the same way). More details under the cut cause they're potential trigger warnings for some people:

I’m only just realizing thst the “Catnip” is likely planted. Look st the movement of the cops hand in the second gif. Looks more like he’s passing it from hand to hand

In the second gifset you can even see the bag underneath the armour so yeah its v much planted
I think like, the death of Vine and Rabbit, Wikipedia constantly needing to beg for money, Discord depending so heavily on venture capital, Facebook turning towards spying on users to generate a return on all the venture capital that got them started, Adobe creative suite turning into a subscription rather than a single product you buy, the strangulation of streaming entertainment as every company pulls their content and makes it exclusive to their service, are all great examples of how like, it really doesn't matter if something is legitimately useful, efficient, or beloved, it is next to impossible for a service to exist if it doesn't make shareholders increasing amounts of money year after year. Which may seem like a "no duh" type of statement, but it's a very simple window into how the profit motive makes products and services worse, not better. And how that's not just a matter of certain companies or ceos being bad and greedy on an individual level, but is an inescapable factor of an economy where existence is dependent on generating capital.
TELL US WHY YOU’RE CLOSED. WHY ARE YOU CLOSING YOUR DOORS. WHY ARE YOU LOCKING YOUR DOORS TO THE PUBLIC. TELL US THE REASON. WHY.
tbh i am not the person you want to be texting in an emergency, my notifications are off and i’m on Do Not Disturb. i haven’t had a ringtone since the dark years of ‘06. i’ll text u back in four (business) months like “hope that worked out, the Lord works in mysterious ways xx”
LPT: Don't throw your junk mail away. Use it to to help the USPS instead!
Next time you get a credit card offer in the mail, or a junk piece of mail that includes a prepaid envelope or postcard, don't throw it away! Send the envelope back with a blank sheet of paper inside, or don't fill the postcard out, but still send it back. The company that sent it to you had to pay the USPS for postage on each one they get back. This is a way to support the USPS by doing very little, and sticking it to the annoying companies that want all of your money.
In the 90s we would send companies “hate mail” by stuffing prepaid envelopes with things like ‘blanks’ (flat heavy metal pieces), a roofing shingle) and layers of other competitors’ mail or junk news. This is because the company would have to pay more upon recieving the junk mail. It eats into them. It actually somewhat reduced our junk mail returnables, I think. Send that mail y’all.
Except please don't do this to nonprofits!!
If you do this when you get a donation request or something from a nonprofit, you'll be forcing small organizations with very little overhead to deal with the incoming mail and paying for the postage.
Credit card companies? YES. Personal loan offers? ABSOLUTELY. The chain store you've never shopped at who bought your info from a competitor? BY ALL MEANS.
But don't do this to your local "Friends of the Library" fundraiser or homeless outreach program or anything like that. You'll be draining their limited resources that would be better used elsewhere.
i used to think that plot was so ridiculous. I’m embarrassed at how wrong i was.

Younger voters, Black & Hispanic voters, and first-time mail-in ballot voters are most likely to have their ballots rejected because of a mistake.
These groups all lean Democratic.
If you’re in a swing state and voted via mail, you should check if your state allows you to see if your mail-in ballot has been rejected and allows you to correct or “cure” the error!
You can check the status of your mail-in ballot here:
This is so disgusting to watch. They are 12 year-old boys, who “matched the description” and had to experience this horror. A little boy crying scared to death and the other one telling him to stop , because he wants to stay alive is what makes me cry. Just try to understand this- they know the way cops treat black boys and trying to calm themselves down TO SURVIVE THIS. How horrifying is that?
how can people be so rude and don’t feel bad afterwards… When I don’t say thank you or don’t smile back I’ll think about it for 3 months straight and have flashbacks
