Just my blog here.

We've secretly replaced David Brooks with a progressive. Let's watch and see if anyone notices.

Gah. Dude freaks me out all the time. He makes me mad. He makes me agree with him. He makes me mad that I agree with him. His books are good and pull you in before they turn polemic against you. If more people on the Right or Right-center were this mature, rational, and concilliatory, FoxNews wouldn't exist and this country would get along a lot better. Then again, if more people on the Left could be more mature, rational, and concilliatory to each other, the Right would be irrelevant instead of the Left.

Ya gotta love customers for their gall. Here's an excerpt from something urgent that got escalated to me:

i want to know why my internet disconnects everynite at 12:05 central time! at first i thought it was my cpu but it turns out that it is happening to everyone i know in [TOWN]! i and my mother have had service with you for going on two years now and we both work on the net at nite, but due to the disconnections we have both LOST our jobs! you see not only does it disconnect, but it take anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes to even log back on,and the company we WORKED for could not deal with it anymore

And here's what the mother said to our technical support when she was calling about the same problem (found while digging through logs to troubleshoot the problem that cost them their jobs):

is on till 12:06-12:10 and it is disconnecting. Customer states she can reconnect immediatly after. Customer isnt check email at that time. Customer states her son across town has the same problem, often getting disconnected at the same time. Customer says they are typically on POGO playing poker and other games. Customer states they both use Pogo

Now either: 1) they are professional online poker players and lost their jobs because they couldn't get on and game or 2) they did some sort of work from home online and their productivity might have been slipping for a bit. Either way, bravo. Bravo for having the temerity to call online poker "work on the net."

I personally spend a couple of hours a night working on the net. I couldn't imagine losing that job or how angry I would be if I did.
