LORD OF THE RINGS SET FOR MAGIC THE GATHERING??????
Establish dominance by declaring an Elf a “Man-friend” before they declare you an “Elf-friend”
Make sure they know you are not just any kind of Lord but a Man-Lord
I’ve realized something
Everyone who is in any way aspec and into Lord of the Rings, Hobbit, and/or the Silmarillion reblog this. Those who aren’t comment.
A majority of the people I’ve seen who are into it are aroace so just need to check.
I just saw a piece of art of Finduilas as Gil-galad, and now I’m wondering, was Aeglos originally the spear that pinned her to the tree, only she (somehow) survived, pulled it out, then decided to soup it up and make it her own weapon? Because that would be cool as fuck. :D
@princess-faelivrin have you seen this yet?
me when i see white fingon: why are you white
Having lots of Turin and Tuor feels these days…
icon commission for @electroniccollectiondonut!! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to draw Orodreth again :D
id: a square portrait of orodreth, an elf with fair skin, silver eyes, and off-white hair cut in a fluffy bob. he looks dissatisfied or perhaps mildly judgmental.
Finduilas Faelivrin, princess of Nargothrond
I like Finduilas a lot. I wish we knew more about her. Her death is one of the more disturbing to me in the Narn. The sheer pointless hopelessness of it all…
The model for both the center and bottom middle is Tindi Mar!
guess the hidden symbolism in a few of the squares!
also obligatory tag of @princess-faelivrin who has the best Finduilas content ever and also introduced me (and I think everyone else) to the Fin Galad concept which is beautiful! I know this isn’t your design but your art was definitely in my mind when I made this!
There needs to be art of Orodreth and Finduilas being father & daughter-y together!
happy Gates of Summer to @loothientinooviel!! I hope you enjoy your gift!!!
id: a drawing of modern Luthien, Dior, and Beren having a day at the beach. Luthien is smiling and eating a slice of watermelon as she watches Dior (a small child) bury Beren in the sand.
Here's my @gatesofsummerexchange gift for @esmeblaze! Happy Solstice!
I GOT TO DRAW FIN-GALAD!!! In fancy hanfu!!! I was so excited when I got you as my giftee, I hope you like it!
silm adaptation where there’s no writing involved, they just cast each character, costume them, make them read the book, and have them improv the whole thing
All right Silm fandom, I want to hear who your favorite character is. And by “favorite character,” I mean “I have carefully constructed their complex personality and elaborate backstory from 2 lines of canon text”
I haven’t seen ofmd but I have a sneaking suspicion that in the outlaw arc, Andróg is the Izzy Hands to Túrin’s Blackbeard and Beleg’s Stede
perfect ship dynamic is two people whose mutual understanding only just barely outweighs their mutual resentment. like not in a "foe yay" or "hate ship" way, in a really awful messy intimate fond way. an "i see too much of myself in you and this makes me feel simultaneously less alone and really awful" way. a "you know me too well and the vulnerability scares me" way. a "loving you may as well be an act of self acceptance therefore i can't let myself wholly love you" way.
drawing finduilas on stream and it was suggested that i make her goth
id: a portrait of finduilas faelivrin, but goth. she is a blonde elf with pale skin and freckles, wearing a mesh t-shirt over a black crop top, a choker with a red heart on it, red and black makeup, and flowers in her hair.
If I'm being honest, I'll take any scenario involving Eonwe and Ingwe being close. It should almost definitely begin as just "You're devoted to Manwe. I'm devoted to Manwe. Huh. 🤔" situation, but from there you could probably justify all kinds of dynamics! My favorite is Eonwe as a mentor figure, almost, but there are literally no boring answers here
So here's a factoid. Ancient sources agree that if you are making a certain kind of catapult, you need special ropes. The second best thing to make those ropes out of is apparently human hair. So, do you think that short haircuts became briefly fashionable in Valinor during the War of Wrath? To show support for the war effort in an extremely publicly visible way, and materially contributing to cracking open an evil fortress like it's an egg?
I have never heard that before, that's fascinating.
As for hairstyles in Eldamar during the War of Wrath… Hmm, I don't know. Depends on how easy it is to make it grow back quickly.
…Possibly more importantly, how complete were the mobilizations in Tirion and Valmar? How many people wanted to go and couldn't? How many could have gone but wouldn't? If there are substantial proportion of each, it might be appreciated as a way to scream "I'm supporting the Host of the West (unlike SOME people)".
And I'm pretty sure stringing bows with elf-hair is canonical? So there's that, too.
shout out to my dad including a puzzle in our tolkien dnd campaign whose solution depended on it being a clear reference to ungoliant <3
