Crazy how easily you guys fall for propaganda

Ngl it’s hard to look at this without feeling like she’s being used by her family as a prop

She is.

I can see she’s being used as a prop, but I can understand what’s being said here. Everytime I look at the news or hear about current events from my stepdad it always seems as if the older generation complains about the problems of now and says it’s up to the new generation to fix them, often while trying to divert the blame on the newer generations for their failures and fuck-ups and treating them as if they’re always going to be idiots who need their oh-so-gilded-guidance, all the while having their heads in the sand in regards to current issues like ostriches or squabbling with each other like stray dogs over meat about how to fix these problems instead of doing what plenty of other people did long before even their great-great-grandparents were zygotes. And while the girl here may be a mouthpiece for her parents, there’s plenty of young people who actually feel this way, myself included (while I’m in my twenties and certainly older than this girl, I can relate to what’s being said)

Depending on where in your 20’s you are, it’s possible you’ve seen the predicted “End of the World” go by at least three times. I’ve seen it go by at least 4.

It’s tiresome seeing/hearing the Globalists cry wolf.

I mean, yes we should be taking care of the environment better, but I’m getting annoyed by the doomsaying.

And it’s odd how every proposed “solution” involves world socialism.

It’s like that’s the goal, instead of “saving the planet”.

I have conflicted feelings about this cause on one hand I get the annoyance of feeling like no one is doing anything and wishing we would do more to stop waste, pollution, and all other scrap we do to the planet. But I also don't like the world is ending next year stuff and this doom and gloom and utter fear especially in a child. I wish there was more happy medium people encourage actual plans to help the planet instead of fearmongering and socialism.

I asked a vet-tech about this once. What she does is tip the carrier up on end, pour the cat in, close the door, then gently tip it down to let them flow into the bottom.

Further proving in the process cats are more liquids than solids.

“Pour the cat in” LMAO

I don’t think we’re born with a natural tendency to protect the environment. I think it’s something we learn if we’re educated and brought up to have the manners to care for the world. At some stage in our lives, the greed factor became stronger, and that has led us to the horrible situation we’re in now. A CHANGE IS NECESSARY, and I believe my films convey that. - Hayao Miyazaki

If you are an adult who identifies with the concept of Gifted Kid Syndrome and:

  • You have an unusually intense reaction to the concept of rejection, whether personal, professional, or academic
  • You have consistent trouble meeting deadlines
  • You have big dreams and ambitions that are completely achievable, but you consistently can’t take steps toward achieving them and you don’t know why
  • You procrastinate, like a lot
  • You like video games, like a lot
  • You switch seemingly at random between binge watching your favorite shows for absurd lengths of time or not being able to sit down and focus on them unless you’re doing something else at the same time
  • You cannot for the life of you keep your living area clean and organized
  • You struggle with substance dependencies, whether with alcohol, tobacco, weed, harder drugs, or even just caffeine
  • You struggle with texting/calling/emailing back, even for people you care about deeply and/or even for important deadlines

Please, please, please consider seeking out an ADHD evaluation.

I’m not a psychiatrist or any kind of a medical professional, but personally I can’t help but notice how many elements of what I was perceiving as personal failures before my diagnosis stem directly from my executive dysfunction. Meds and an adequate support system can make a world of difference!

Just some advice from your friendly neighborhood nonbinary-mom-friend blogger!

...these are all seriously signs of ADHD?

You’re kidding

Not even a little bit.

As someone who has recently started treatment for ADHD after literal decades of the stuff on that list (like, everything but substance dependency), do yourselves all the favors and look into it. Also, lighten up on yourselves, because this has nothing to do with inadequacy or failure.

I feel like this isn't mentioned enough, but male gymnasts are tiny little babies. Like average size is 5'4"-5'7". I propose DC Comics to give me what I want and draw Dick Grayson at his full, more realistic, 5'5" height next to 6'+ giants like Jason and Bruce. I want my boy the same size as Selina. He's throwable, he's pick up-able, he's pocket sized and hates it. This is a callout DC. Cowards.

september is coming up so here’s your yearly reminder to leave billie joe armstrong the fuck alone

Well of course. We don’t wake him up until October 1st.

His dad is dead, just don’t.

In case anyone reading my blog is unaware, this is a reference to the Green Day song titled “Wake Me Up When September Ends” a song that Billie Joe Armstrong wrote following the death of his father in September of 1982 when Billie Joe was ten years old. The title of the song references his desire to sleep through September in an effort to get some emotional distance from the death of his father.

He’s since been open about the emotional difficulty of having written the song since many people now message him on October 1st to ‘wake him up’ despite the song being a memorial to his departed father.

It’s generally seen as respectful to not try to wake him up. Let him sleep and let him remember his father in peace.

reblogging again because the end of September is coming up. leave him alone.

Reblogging as a reminder to leave Billie Joe Armstrong the fuck alone on October 1st and any day after it if your message is going to contain anything to do with “waking” him up because September will be over.

“Watchfully waiting” for women to die?

I learned when I was 15 that when a fertilized egg implants, it’s THERE (save circumstances that lead to loss of pregnancy). Normally it implants in the uterus, where it should implant. Then, barring any of the circumstances referenced earlier, it grows into a viable fetus.

In ectopic pregnancies, the fertilized egg implants in Not The Uterus (usually Fallopian tubes). This means it’s not going to move. This means it’s never going to be viable because it’s fixed in the Wrong Goddamn Place.

This means it CANT ever become a baby, and it WILL be life-threatening for the person carrying the never-able-to-be-born embryo. This isn’t about “saving the baby’s life” because it can and never will be a baby. It’s 100% about controlling women’s (and other ppl with vaginas) bodies.

And I know this all from 9th grade biology. That’s how pathetically uninformed pro-lifers are.

The procedure for handling an ectopic pregnancy is NOT labeled as an abortion in any reference of OB/GYN knowledge. An abortion is any procedure that empties the UTERUS, but ectopic pregnancies are outside of that organ. Drugs used in an abortion are utilized, but the two medical procedures are completely different and require different treatments.

You can not go to your local abortion clinic, and ask for an abortion pill to pass the baby at home or even at the clinic. Your local abortion clinic does not have the facility standards to allow a removal of the pregnancy. They can’t give you a D&C. You have to go to a hospital, have the pregnancy monitored, and use similar drugs to stop the growth of fetal cells. 90% of the time the baby is already dead (no heartbeat/activity), so it’s a matter of stopping a tumerous growth. For the 10% of cases where the baby is still alive, either the doctors will use the drugs to kill the baby right away, or in the case of women who are pro-life, they will monitor her closely until the baby passes, and then use the drugs. Afterwards the pregnancy can be surgically removed. How and when this all happens depends on a variety of factors that go far beyond the misunderstanding of “she just needs an abortion”.

Extrauterine pregnancies are very delicate matters, and depending on the case involved, will be handled appropriately by the medical team that respects the health and wishes of the mother. And guess what? Pro-life women and pro-life hospitals go through ectopic pregnancies too. They handle it how they feel is safest for mom. If you all want to talk about basic biology, then please do not spread misconceptions about people who identify as pro-life and experience the heartbreak of losing a child through pregnancy loss, or spread dangerous misunderstandings of obstetric health.

“If they were pro life, they would…”

WE

ARE

Instead of protesting at the detention centers, pro-lifers brought the children the supplies they needed.

Instead of demanding Medicare funding (or, depending on who you talk to, in addition to it), pro-lifers support charities that help with medical costs and other needs (Catholic Charities is a great example), as well as free/low-cost medical clinics.

Pro-life people don’t just advocate for foster children, but many are foster parents and many have adopted children from foster care.

We DO care about all the issues: poverty, homelessness, violence, health care, war, ALL OF IT.

The only reason people think we only care about abortion is because it’s the only time we stand out from the crowd.
