I'm a Dork, what's up?

@prince-of-places

Ryan or Nicole 💙 (you can call me whatever) / 20 (I prefer "levels" to "years old") / INTJ (if this means anything to you) / 4, 9 and 5 for the enneagram personality (not even gonna pretend I know how that works) / He-him or they-them or she-her (like it matters) / Neurodivergent (so much easier to just put this here rather than go into everything) / Ace (this took me too long to figure out) / Atheist-Agnostic (If there is a god, I'm not sure I wanna believe in it) / Non-Binary or Agender (I actually feel comfy about this after denying it for a long time) / self diagnosed BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) / Plenty of SPINS. Maybe one day I'll put them all here again / Guess it's one day! Ok so my main SPINs have been, in no particular order: The Beatles and Classic Rock, King Arthur and Medieval Times, Batman and Comic Books, Undertale and Video Games (especially RPGs), Liverpool and Football (soccer, if you will. Only got into it because of my dad so I could have something to talk about), Encyclopedias and Learning. Hyperfixations are: Fallout, Skyrim, Video Essays (so, so many video essays), Doctor Who, Star Trek (especially TNG), Harry Potter (not anymore), various classic rock bands, Marvel (I'm not a fanboy), DC (I'm slightly protective of Batman, especially the Arkham Games but that's it), PS4, PC, computer specs is a new one, Pokemon, BoJack Horseman, Friends, ATLA, Philosophy, Autism and other ND types(?), guitar playing, Bo Burnham, and I'll leave it at that for now. In general, I'm interested in Music, Movies, TV shows, Video Games, Photography, Graphic Design, Editing, and Writing. I'll probably move this stuff to an about page if I ever get around to doing that. For now you're just stuck with it >:) / PMs are open, ofc. Nearly nothing offlimits. If I don't respond I'm probably busy. If you think I might be idk, interesting ig, please come by and talk for a bit. I might not respond for a while because of Anxiety but I'll try to get back to you. Header art by @sleepyselkiesiren, my favourite person in the whole world 💚

30 Days of Autism Acceptance 2021

April 1st: Introduce yourself. Talk about who you are as a person. Your age, hobbies, special interests, family, etc. Anything you feel comfortable sharing.

Hi, my name is Ryan/Nicole (It’s a whole process)! I am 19yo, I am non-binary. I am from Ireland and have lived here all my life. I’ve only ever travelled to European countries. All of my SPINs (Special Interests) are listed in my bio, but in case you’re not bothered to check they are:  The Beatles and Classic Rock, King Arthur and Medieval Times, Batman and Comic Books, Undertale and Video Games (especially RPGs), Liverpool and Football (soccer, if you will. Only got into it because of my dad so I could have something to talk about), Encyclopedias and Learning. Hyperfixations are: Fallout, Skyrim, Video Essays (so, so many video essays), Doctor Who, Star Trek (especially TNG), Harry Potter (not anymore), various classic rock bands, Marvel (I'm not a fanboy), DC (I'm slightly protective of Batman, especially the Arkham Games but that's it), PS4, PC, computer specs are a new one, Pokémon, BoJack Horseman, Friends, ATLA, Philosophy, Autism and other ND types(?), guitar playing, Bo Burnham, and I'll leave it at that for now. I have a mam, dad, and two brothers in my family. I was diagnosed with autism (then Asperger’s Syndrome) when I was 11, along with GAD (Generalised Anxiety Disorder).

I don’t really know who I am as a person. My main personality trait is being considered intelligent by basically everyone I’ve met and known for longer than like a week, so it’s kind of stuck with me as an indicator for who I am. I’ve also been called kind, sweet, and considerate many times, as well as respectful. I don’t know if I’d call myself that though.

Shoutout to @autie-j and @lesmiserabby for providing the prompts for this year's Autism Acceptance Month!

Evidently landlord and lawyer were some rough slander 250 years ago, maybe we still have some things in common with the founding fathers

my favorite thing about this movie is that it pissed off Nixon so badly (by having a song about how conservatives are obstructionist) that he tried to not only have the song cut but also get the negatives for that scene destroyed and they only added the song back in decades later

shout out to the film’s editor who back in the 1970’s completely hid the negatives for that scene for decades allowing us to have it restored for the 2002 re-release

looking at a flat that seems, puzzlingly, to not be selling even tho it looks decent and in a good location & then pulled up the floorplan and its like. ah

Anonymous asked:

Uh??? The facts abt ur parents??? Whadda hell would u be open to doing more facts abt ur wild parents bc I love them

Sure! They’re very weird.

  1. My dad regularly sings to my mom about how much he loves her while standing exactly in the way of whatever she’s trying to do
  2. My parents didn’t marry until I was 4 and they regularly forget that they’re spouses. They generally refer to themselves as partners
  3. My mom proposed to my dad by yelling at him from a room away that her taxes were fucked and they had to get married to which my father replied “this is how I always dreamed you’d ask me!” and pretending to swoon
  4. My dad appears as an actor in the movie Swoon, supposedly an important piece of queer cinema
  5. My parents were both punks in their youth
  6. When I came home for thanksgiving with a mohawk, unannounced, my mom started crying because I looked “so handsome” and “just like your dad” and kept petting my head
  7. My dad only says “that’s my boy” to me when I say something gay about men
  8. My mom and dad have the same taste in women but opposite taste in men
  9. One time we were watching a movie set in Chicago and my mom turned to my dad, and in the most sentimental mom voice, said “Chicago honey! We haven’t been there since the anarchist convention!”
  10. My dad worked on California’s weed legalization bill

Patreon done goofed.

I had quite a few Patrons knocked off the roll this time around. If you got declined or a fraud warning or something, please be patient and try to stay on top of it.

Considering Grady's health issues, this comes at a really bad time. Pitching in would be appreciated.

An update:

For some reason, Patreon appears to have moved its payment processor to Ireland. This is causing some American banks to see payments routed internationally and they're flagging the charges as fraudulent.

Just a giant damn mess.

The irony of Patreon threatening to cut off ‘adult’ content creators (yes that includes romance authors) from our income if we don’t verify our age and then absolutely shitting the bed and cutting off whole swathes of creators regardless of content from being paid because they yet again bungled payment processing changes. Like you’d think after going through this circus multiple times now they’d have it down but no, fuck you. Starve.

Hey warning to anyone who is psychotic and wants to watch the Barbie movie:

When barbie is in the real world and tells people she is barbie, people talking about her say she should be in an "insane asylum", that she is a "nutjob" and then correct themselves and say something along the lines of "a reality challenged woman". Basically she is perceived as being psychotic, and insulted for it.

Also throughout the entire film they throw around words like "crazy" and "insane".

The movie also has fourth wall breaks where it's talking about the actors and how you view them as you are watching.

The film talks of different realities (as in barbieland and the real world).

I didn't see any warnings about the movie (these aren't even spoilers, barbie entering the real world is in the trailers) and I had an awful time watching in theaters. Please be aware of your mental state before going watching the movie. If you can't handle these themes, that's okay, you don't need to watch it, just because it's a hot topic it doesn't mean everyone needs to see it. Take care of yourself.

There are also two scenes where Barbie enters a door (or walks off screen) and is seemingly standing in an entirely different place. Like, a place not entirely logical to be in in relation to where she came from. These scenes are supposed to be vague and a bit dream-like.

If that's upsetting to you too, please do be careful! These scenes are important for the ending and not easy to overlook

Something my PE teachers in high school never understood was: I know my limits. I know what I can and can't do. I have been dictating that since I was 6 years old. It is not your job to tell me, a physically disabled person, "I think you can participate in this." I don't fucking care. Your job is to either accommodate to my needs, and if you can't change what we're doing to do that, leave me alone and let me watch the class.

The amount of times teachers got legitimately angry because I was sitting out was fucking awful. They'd always ask why and I would reply honestly "I can't." or "I need to rest/catch my breath." And they would always try and convince me that either, I could participate or that I should have caught my breath by then.

I was never believed. They were always trying to get me to exercise even though I explained to them so many times why I couldn't or didn't want to.

This is just one example of ableism in my life. I'm sure I'll share plenty more this Disability Pride Month.

Please just listen to disabled people and their needs. It's fucking frustrating when you don't.

Fuck off ableists.

Disney should argue it was Agatha all along.

They do this because a background actor will maybe become a star one day.

Look at Jennifer Aniston or Evangeline Lilly. Both began as background actors.

“Oh, look, sorry, lady, but now we can put you in adult film without your consent. Oops.”

It’d be a real shame if you were to suddenly become a pornstar tomorrow. Maybe you don’t want to go on strike after all? Maybe you do want to take the role for 10% of what you wanted us to pay you?
