Personally, I think it was at least partially due to Hollywood’s obsession with the ‘no homo’ thing (because goodness forbid that men be shown that they can emotionally and physically close with each-other). And I wonder if Steve Kloves was attempting to get in a last bit of H*rmione baiting, despite Ron and Hermione being a couple by that point.
In the second gif it literally looks like she looks at Harry, then immediately looks over at Ron’s… you know😅
