we are a highway kiss away from madness — tonight, you burn what's left of my breaths and i stay and sit and hold the matches to this roadside fire in total awe, darling
like an angel after his fall.
some things, too raw to die for heresy — some things, too raw to be an anomaly.

With the turning of life,
I was but met with a belief,
that can make me push through,
when all else might seem lost,
for now there's another reason too.

* certifies your stature to some extent;
paths you travel, folk you meet, depending on your soul’s particular bent.
your wanderlust, (yes, there’s a good kind…) or desire to search, seek & find
something out there that speaks to your blended kind of curiosity & savoir fare.
you can’t pinpoint where, but can feel a distinct tug to transport you - magically, like Aladdin’s rug;
should you step out & take a chance in unfamiliar places, states…
you’ll find the circle of circumstance doesn’t define or circumscribe
& becomes more like a wide elliptical, spun;
where you - heavenly body - get to span your uniquely shaped galaxy
orbiting through the unique blend of that & those who trend with you - for fun, now & again - or whenever you choose. * 4/21 - lebuc - circle of circumstance
I used to have nightmares.
Memories from my past reappearing
constantly in my head.
Loudly giving me reminders over a past
I cannot change.
My mind was tugging at shadows that haunted me
since I was a little girl that made me feel
guilt over qualities I used to think were
flaws;
but now?
Now I am choosing to run to my old little girl self and
comfort her,
reminding her that although it may be tough now;
one day it won't be.
One day it'll be a new day,
and you'll have a new life that
no on else will be able to define for you.
You'll define it for yourself.
That part may sound scary at first and it'll be an adjustment to handle and
I don't promise there won't be a few bumps along the way;
but you'll make it through.
Now I am choosing to
let go of my shadows and embrace
the present sunlight.
In the earliest hour,
where it is picturesque, tranquil and vast,
the road is never ending.
What have you been thinking of?
Travelling, without objective,
a stranger to your effort, a pilot
searching for company -
The stillness of the space you move in
will soon be a distant thought
in the activities you subscribe to
nothing remains fixed, no morning is the same.
But your exploration, your friction
between time and space is etched into your spirit.
When my time runs out
And the sand in my clock stops falling
Remember me for who I was
A man that had nothing but hoping
A warm breeze in the mid of winter
Covered by the freezing cold
And a leaf that fell in autumn
Went dry and became gold
Remember me as a letter
A message you never wrote
A man that burned what he touches
Even though I tried my most
Remember me as my reminders
Telling me to always take care
And find the good in bad situations
To avoid being unfair
Remember me for who I am
Not who I was once before
Because if I ever hurt you once
Know that it’s shaking my core
For I never mean to cause any pain
So this will be the last time I do it
And I hope you have enough strength
To find yourself through it
I will love you until the sun no longer wakes and the moon forever sleeps, I will love you until the clouds no longer weep and the land no longer grows, and even then, I will love you still, one day more

the other day i was looking out the window
i saw the shadow of a purple leaf tree
that tree's been gone for years, i know
and i wonder, was that a ghost or memory?

Tugging at shadows
to expose corners to light
the preacher speaks out
knowing our sins are toxic
coming between us and God.

Trainspotting (1996)
There is a silence in this world,
A lonely, solemn darkness.
And it stretches as far as the oceans,
It breaths as much as the wind.
It hides behind innocent smiles,
Empty happiness.
*****
There is a silence
Among bustling crowds,
Where people sit and never speak.
Between families that have forgotten to share,
Between lovers who have forgotten to love,
In the hearts of poets,
Who have forgotten the meaning of words.
*****
There is silence,
Alive and alluring
Calling us all to sleep,
Putting our lives to rest,
There is a silence here,
As quiet as death.

Everything about it
That dream
The dream
Felt... so... real
So real that
Even after I woke up
I laid there
Feeling what was left
Enjoying
Every ember
Of that amazing dream
Spending time with you
While I rested
Was so well spent
As the sun began to kiss my face
My ears began to hear
I tried hard to float back
To the dream
To that dream
Yet every morning I open my eyes
Knowing one day
I know I’ll see you
Staring back at me
And I will kiss you
