i think it's kind of a shame that more of the wider fob fanbase hasn't listened to pax am days bc i think about pax am days all the time.

like, patrick recorded the vocals for it in basically one take while getting progressing levels of drunk, pete said on twitter that they got the idea for hot to the touch cold on the inside because they were talking about hot pockets, they did a concert during the srar era where they played the entirety of pax in full and then just did the rest of their normal setlist bc it's only 13 minutes long, and also it contains my favorite fob lyric; "the lion paws his own teeth out so you can love him, now."

if you hate this Thing, then the Thing you hate is actually just the female form

As a seamstress, that last meme is the truth. (I mean the message behind it, not literally.)

You look bad in your clothes because they are made to be cheap, not to fit your body. Modern clothing relies on stretch materials to fit around the largest possible range of bodies, not to be flattering to any body. For all of human history until recently, clothing was custom made for individuals, but that doesn't sell large volumes of clothing units so capitalism says it's not the clothes that are wrong, it's your body and your fault. You should buy more stuff.

Celebrities have clothes custom made or custom tailored. Some people just happen to have bodies close to the digital "ideal" models that are used to size clothes. But most people don't.

It's the clothes, I promise. They are made for profit, not for you.

The problem is once again. Capitalism.

updated Ref and Mini bio for my Shockbee child Radiowave! I love her so much she is very angry… And very ready to fight…

Her minibio is by me and @/the-good-ol-art-corner ‘s blurrbee kid Zippy

Feel Free to Send Asks Asking about her!!

TA-14.

HERES THE THING. Following off of this, with permission from the author, the wonderful @meridianbarony - A little glimpse at TA-14, the Shockbee baby! Her designation is because of the headcanon that young autobots dont actually get names until they’re in their final armor and profession, when they’re named by their trainers and teachers.

Missing Perspective Director's Cut Update

So good news everyone, especially those waiting for a Mirror Gate update because I refuse to work on more than one fic at a time.

2/21 chapters have been completed and beta'd. (Not live on AO3. It's going to be updated when all chapters are complete)

Yeah it's been 3 years or however long but I'm actually powering through it now. Even if everyone who was wanting it have gone and moved on to other stuff.

If any boys are interested, I'm open to guys coming along and illustrating feature moments in each chapter. There's no money but also no obligation to participate, it's more of a fanart thing than anything really. MSpaint quality pictures are absolutely valid. DM me if you want to know more.

It's been very difficult doing this, again this fic was written when I was at a really bad point in life. It's gonna be my new year's resolution to get it done (before the end of 2024 (barring sickness, death, arrested on regicidal charges, ect.)

Every comment saying "nice one boss" or "nice one boss" but in a nasally voice are highly appreciated. Stay tuned folks

still so fucking weird to go from real life, where a cis man being flamboyant/effeminate/camp is judged like 70+% by how he speaks and carries himself, to online queer communities, which often seem to have no concept of male gender non-conformity that doesn’t involve wearing a skirt

i promise you, a man can be fem to the point of being in danger while wearing literally exactly the same thing as a hypermasculine guy. a boring basic black suit. a t shirt and jeans. a UNIFORM. gender conformity is not only about what you wear

None of you have watched that heartbreaking scene in The Birdcage where Albert gives up wearing everything he likes to try and blend in for their son’s conservative prospective in-laws and is so awkward and uncomfortable that no one says much until finally he says, defeated, “I know what you’re thinking - dressed like this, I’m even more obvious, aren’t I?” and it shows.

Here, have your queer heart broken:

This is what I’m talking about. This is still literally how it is in most places in the Midwest if you’re trying to “pass” for straight/cis/whatever.

I cannot begin to describe how hard I cried when I saw this scene the first time and how confused my conservative family was as to why I was crying.

It’s so funny how literally the way a man holds his wrists is an indication of femininity but also people think it’s all about makeup and clothing. But we’re also at a point that if you have a suit that is any color other than black, dark grey, or navy, it’s flamboyant.

Men’s sartorial stylings are so rigidly controlled it’s painful. Tim Gunn here is at the very absolute bleeding edge of “acceptably masculine” here for most cishet men, just for some noticible stripes, patterns, and purple, and that’s before he even moves. This is how restricted it is.

But Trixie Mattel (out of drag here) wearing standard masculine garb is could still be deemed unacceptably feminine for body language alone.

This is why we talk about “toxic masculinity” – the idea that any expression of emotion besides anger or even wearing colorful clothes is non-masculine and therefore restricted is horrifying. It sucks! Men should be allowed to express themselves outside of a tiny box of acceptable behavior, because they’re, y'know, people, and people have a wide range of expression in the way they like to look and move and act. I honestly feel like it’s gotten worse over the last couple decades, too. If you look at men’s fashions from the 70s and even into the 80s, there’s a lot of style choices that look pretty cringe to us, but…. you also see a lot more color and pattern in suits than you do now. I’m not sure when this started to shift, or if it’s tied in to the increasing lack of color in all consumer products, but it sucks.

tbh my nonbinary ass has a theory that over the past few decades “girl” got so restrictive that a lot of afab children who would have been gender conforming when i was a child are now not – just because the definitions have changed, not because the children themselves are doing anything different– and a lot of afab children have felt so alienated by the restrictions on “girl” that they bailed on the gender entirely or in part.

i suspect the same restriction has been happening with “boy”, although i did not have a close-up view of that one. it’s such a narrow space, now. my spouse gets called brave for wearing pink and purple (which are part of his everyday “casual pastel goth from new england” vibe). my amab child sobbingly gave up pink as a favorite color a few weeks into fucking preschool because the gender enforcement from other kids was so intense, and nothing either I nor child’s father could say helped. no, tiny child was sure pink pajamas at home weren’t ok, nor the beloved baby doll in a pink dress, the other kids had said boys couldn’t like pink or dolls. (that child is more than 10 years older now, genderfluid, and back on their pink bullcrap, never fear.)

anyway. it’s not that a boy wouldn’t get made fun of in preschool for saying he liked pink back in my day, because he would, because I know one of my brothers did, but I feel like the intensity was different. idk. I’ve been thinking about this for a while, about this narrowing of space, about the way it feels less like I left being a woman than being a woman left me, on some kind of level I can’t quite grasp, and toxic masculinity is about a lot of things but also about shrinking the space for acceptable gender expression for men.

also tim gunn is an ace king whose entire gender performance is glorious and amazing and i love it.

“kids all think they’re trans nowadays” well maybe if y’all hadn’t made the gender boxes so narrow more of us would be comfortable inside of them

Abled Person: Hey man, can you hold this wad of $2,000 and this one penny for me while I open my wallet?

Disabled Person: YOU COMPLETE AND UTTER FOOL!

The United States Government:

(Watch how many people don’t get this.)

In order for disabled people to receive any sort of financial assistant for their housing, food, bills, medical supplies, etc., they cannot ever have more than $2,000 of resources to their name. Ever.

It doesn’t matter what it’s for.

You’re saving up for a new wheelchair?

For college?

To put a downpayment on a house?

Hell man, you just happen to budget for once in your life so that you can have some extra money in case something bad happens?

Your benefits immediately get cut off if you’re a cent over $2,000.

And, even worse, you usually end up having to pay back every dollar the government gave you that month.

So say you get $400. If they find out you’re twenty dollars over the resource limit, you have to give them all $400 back and you undergo an investigation of your funds to see if you will continue getting money.

“What if I spend the money that day?”

Doesn’t matter. In fact, from what I can tell, people who do this are actually put under investigation for fraud.

And yes, this system literally kills people.

Remember when “Guardians of the Galaxy” came out? one of Rocket Racoon’s creators, Bill Mantlo, suffered an accident in 1992 and has irreparable brain damage.

before the movie came out, Marvel gave him an exclusive preview screening. SOme people were upset because they felt if Marvel was really wanted to thank mantlo, they should have donated money to Mantlo’s family.

Bill Mantlo’s brother had to come out and explain: If Marvel gave them monetary aid, Bill Mantlo would lose his financial assistance.

That’s so utterly depressing.

disgusting

I have friends on welfare who won’t pick up a penny in the street because they’d risk the welfare they struggled to get for 10 years.

oh look another fucked up thing in this world. let’s just add it to the list. number 63858b

My brother has been on California State SSI for autism for the last 10 years, and he absolutely has to (no joke, HAS TO) spend all 720 bucks of his SSI every month, because if he puts it in the bank he risks losing his SSI altogether.

Sometimes, at the end of the month, he has no idea what to do with his money because the whole month went by and he still has 400-ish bucks in his account, and he fucking panics because he doesn’t want to get anywhere near 2,000.

And here’s the funnest part of the story!

One day he did a huge commission on Second Life and wound up earning 1500 bucks off of it, and he told the guy to donate it 500 bucks at a time over 3 months. The guy didn’t want to, and just donated all 1500, which put my brother at 2,036 bucks.

The state IMMEDIATELY (I’m talking less than an hour) called him up to tell him over the phone that they were canceling his SSI, because they noticed he had gone over the 2,000 buck threshold. He had to tell them that someone had made a charitable donation to him and that this was not a common occurrence in any way shape or form, and upon not believing him, my mother had to call to talk to them as his legal caretaker and say basically the same thing until they called off the cancellation of his SSI money.

He also had to cancel his renter’s assistance because it put him to 1,062 a month, so if he went 30 days without spending any money they’d cancel his SSI altogether. Like, none of us in the family have any fucking clue why that regulation is in place and it’s the stupidest shit in human history.

Please, legal side of Tumblr, tell me what positive reasoning this law has?

Happy 4th of July everyone! This is what the “nation of opportunity” looks like.

There’s something called an ABLE account that can help. If you are on SSI and were diagnosed as disabled before the age of 26 you can apply for an ABLE account that will allow you to save up to $99,000. More people need to know about this!

Reblog to literally save a disabled person’s life

This shit is why conservatives think disability is fun pampering, because they see disabled people have to come up with ways to get rid of the money and to them it looks like they must be rolling in excess.

“Not use collective punishment as it is not fair on the many people who did nothing and under the 1949 Geneva Conventions it is a war crime.”

Wait it’s a fucking WAR CRIME?!?! I mean that might not be 100% accurate but now I gotta know

holy crap, collective punishment is a war crime.

and according to the exact legal phrasing-

No protected person may be punished for an offense he or she has not personally committed. Collective penalties and likewise all measures of intimidation or of terrorism are prohibited.

This technically counts, as students are civilians, and thus considered a “protected person”. So yes, collective classroom punishment breaks the fourth Geneva Convention, and she should be rewarded for standing up for human rights and doing her research.

Had about 2-3 AU ideas centering around Longarm/Shockwave and Empurata Bumblebee.

Forgot who made the idea for Empurata Bumblebee, but I give them credit for such a cool idea.

Autobot Elite Guard: If your man: has a big red eye, extendable limbs, and giant treads as shoulders- that’s not your man. That’s the Decepticon double agent, Shockwave.

Bumblebee: no that’s still my man
