considering the force, there is not enough star wars media about A Place That Is Alive

like the force is a spiritual connection to everything including the inanimate. the force is being able to see the webbing connecting everything, being able to reach out and touch it. and some of that webbing is feelings! is intent and emotion and past events!

like i just think the temple where no one actually lives but everyone goes on a pilgrimage to Experience The Force, the temple that only jedi ever go to because it's location and even existence is a closely guarded secret, the temple that guides children to the key component of the tool they use every day for the rest of their lives, the thing that identifies them as a jedi, the weapon they use to protect,

i just think ilum is alive. ilum is a temple and a test and a trial and a teacher and a deity and a friend. some jedi think the coruscant temple is like this, and then they go to ilum. ilum will rearrange itself if you ask or if you should ask. ilum has never let a child die. ilum has let some children get very close. in the coruscant temple there is a storage room full of lightsaber crystals and no one ever steps foot in it until they're knighted, because you can study kyber resonance for centuries and never come close to ilum. ilum might not differentiate between kyber crystals and sapient beings. ilum is keeping crystals growing for jedi millenia dead. ilum is so so so cold and it loves you it loves you it loves you

going from the reddit star wars fandom to the tumblr star wars fandom is giving me insane whiplash. the upside is that people aren’t bitching about every single imperfect detail in the entire franchise, but the downside is that i’ve seen more fanart of obi wan and commander cody tenderly knowing each other than i have ever wanted to in my life in the last three hours and it has probably fundamentally altered the way i interact with the entire franchise
