This is such a bad take. This is such a horrible, terrible, uninformed and masturbatory take. These covid tests are mandatory in China, which is to say if you are unable to produce a negative covid test within 48/72 hours (depending on which city you live in) you are not allowed in public places. You are not allowed to take public transport, you are not allowed in malls or hospitals or restaurants. You might not even be allowed into your own apartment complex. If you happen to *forget* to take a covid test before your previous one expires then good fucking luck because hospitals will literally watch pregnant women miscarriage on their doorstep before letting them in without a negative covid test (this literally, actually happened a few months ago in Xi’an). So I am once again begging Americans to please shut the fuck up and do your fucking research for once in your fucking life before commentating on the politics of other countries.

how the hell even did tim fans get him being CEO of WE out of RR, the comic where it is explicitly stated that he is not CEO of WE.

I scratch my head about that a lot, when I read fanfiction 🤷🏼‍♀️

same here. it makes me think either 1) none of these people really read red robin or 2) they did and they just don’t know the difference between a shareholder and a CEO. honestly, tim being the majority shareholder is funnier anyway because shareholders have more company power than CEOs, but really the only reason tim was appointed for the position was to stop ra’s taking control of wayne enterprises through hush:

(red robin #12)

in the very next issue, it’s once again confirmed that tim is not the CEO- lucius is still the CEO:

as well, he says this to tam in reference to his interest in running the company:

(red robin #13)

And in Batman vol 1 # 704, Dick has some kind of position in WE. I guess the writers didn’t bother to communicate and stick to one story.

oh this is wild, thank you for reminding me of this! honestly it makes more sense for dick to take over bruce’s position in the company anyway in my opinion- not that dick would want to, but if bruce securing his position in the company for one of his sons in his will was truly intended to be a security measure, why would he choose tim, who was a minor at this point, instead of dick? afaik the process of emancipation is not an easy one by any means, if his will had been written so that dick was meant to take his position in company, then the process of instating dick could have began immediately following bruce’s supposed death, rather than leaving that window of time for tim to either turn 18 or get emancipated where someone like ra’s could swoop in and try to take control of the company. and the fact that bruce’s will is being brought into the picture at all is bizarre considering iirc the public at the time was not aware that bruce was “dead” thanks to hush impersonating him in the company under dick and damian’s thumb, so bruce’s will would be useless unless the family decided to expose hush as an impersonator. the lack of communication and plot coordination between batwriters in this era of comics is astounding 💀 thanks for the addition!

Text instructions for those who prefer them:

  1. Visit a user's profile page by clicking on their username.
  2. Copy their User ID number.
  3. Go to your dashboard by clicking on Hi, username! at the top of the site and choosing Dashboard from the dropdown menu.
  4. Click on Skins.
  5. Click on the button labelled My Site Skins.
  6. Click on Create Site Skin.
  7. Enter the CSS code .blurb.user-123456 { display: none !important;}
  8. Do this for as many users as you want to hide.
  9. If you want to combine this with existing skins (either your own or one of the Archive's), go down to Advanced and click on the button labelled Show. Then go down to Parent Skins and click on the button labelled Add Parent Skin. Start typing the name of the skin you want to combine this with. Tap on it to add it as a parent. Do this for as many skins as you want to add together.
  10. When you are finished, click on the Submit button.
  11. A new page will load with your code displayed. Scroll to the bottom and hit the button labelled Use.

As long as you're logged in, this skin will hide that user (or those users) from you on any device, either mobile or desktop.

Note: one small mistake in what I said - not all user IDs will be 6 digits. Whoops! 7 million users so of course that's wrong XD

So, you don't have to copy and paste it over and over like ao3cotd does. You can if that is what you prefer. You could just do:

.blurb.user-12345,
.blurb.user-23456,
.blurb.user-34567 {
display: none !important
}

You need a comma after every [.blurb.user-ID] except the last one in the list.

Anonymous asked:

Do you think it annoys Dick that people forget he's Romanian and not white

Awesome, I’ve been wanting to clear up this misconception for a long time.

Friendly yet aggressive PSA under the cut.

Can I also take this opportunity to add that according to canon, Damian is at most one quarter Arab? Talia’s mother is mentioned to be ‘of mixed Chinese and Arab ancestry’ in Birth of the Demon (1992), written by Dennis O’Neil, one of the original creators of Ra’s al Ghul.

And we know for sure that Ra’s is half Chinese on his father’s side. (I will never get over the fact that they named a wizened old Chinese kungfu master ‘Sensei’. It’s like they don’t know China and Japan are two completely different countries with different languages and cultures.)

It’s further implied in Birth of the Demon that Ra’s was born to a tribe of Chinese nomads that later migrated to the Arabian peninsula.

A member of Ra’s tribe, Huwe (guy in the middle in the pic above) later tries to write down what is basically Ra’s origin story in a supposedly ‘extinct ancient Chinese dialect’.

(BTW, ‘wing ta lao wo chey’ is basically gibberish, if anyone was doubting the fictionality of this ‘extinct ancient Chinese dialect’.)

In fact, Ra’s has never been canonically stated to be of Arab heritage. Ra’s al Ghul isn’t even his real name, it’s a title he chose for himself after he resurrected from the Lazarus Pit. Ra’s is at most half Arab, if we presume that his mother is Arab, and that would make him half Arab and half Chinese.

So to do the math, Talia could be anywhere from 1/4 Arab & 3/4 Chinese to 1/2 Arab & 1/2 Chinese. Divide that by two and we know that Damian is at least 1/8 Arab & 3/8 Chinese, and at most 1/4 Arab & 1/4 Chinese. Either way, it’s very likely that Damian’s skin tone is on the lighter side (he’s already 1/2 white, and ethnic Chinese are mostly born light-skinned). Which is not to justify the very blatant white-washing that DC has done on multiple occasions where they basically make him look Caucasian, or to criticize fan-artists that like to draw him with darker skin. Just...stop policing people who portray him one shade lighter than brown.
