A Court of Thorns and Roses fanfiction

Hate Me Instead 🌶️ - Rhysand and Feyre both struggle with her first visit to the Night Court in this alternative version to early events in ACOMAF. What if Rhysand had stuck around for more for lessons and both of them were making rather poor decisions? From Rhys's POV. (In progress, weekly updates)

Eureka - A one-off where Rhysand finds something exciting in one of his dusty old books, and goes on a late-night research tear, much to Feyre's amusement. Nerdy Rhys wears glasses.

Books and Wings - A very fluffy sweet one-off where Feyre goes to the library in the House of Wind to ask Nesta for a book recommendation. Post ACOSF, the sisters work to build their healing relationship.

Modern AU, Lucien meets Elain while wearing this shirt. She decides she needs to find out

I wasn't going to post this but I want everyone to see how dumb you are and how you harass me when I'm just trying to live a peaceful life

The rules were simple.

Twenty dollars. Ten minutes. One outfit.

Jurian and Lucien had been playing that game since they’d been paired up as roommates in college. The objective was to head to the local thrift store and find the worst combination of colors and pieces to render the other one utterly unfuckable at the bar and then spend the night hitting on whatever woman struck their fancy. They’d get shit faced watching the other utterly strike out before stumbling home when the bar closed down to laugh until they pitched face first onto the bathroom floor.

“Ready?” Jurian asked, a grin stretching across his face. They were too old for this game now—Lucien was twenty eight and a lawyer, for chrissake. Jurian, too, though he did something secretive and probably shady for the American government. Lucien knew better than to ask what. They both looked appropriately nice—either one of them could have easily found someone willing to go home with them after a couple drinks blurred out their faces and erased their sense of shame.

“Ready,” Lucien said, eyeing the dingy interior filled nearly wall to wall with clothing items someone else had deemed unworthy. Jurian pulled out his phone, revealing a cracked screen and an iPhone Lucien was certain didn’t get made anymore. His friend fumbled through the half black screen before pulling up the stop watch.

“Annnnd…wait, hold on, I fucked it up,” Jurian said with a frown.

“Oh for fucks sake,” Lucien grumbled, pulling out his own, protected in a case and practically brand new. They couldn’t have been more comically different.

“Go,” Jurian said, shoulder checking Lucien as he darted off.

I don't know how you simultaneously make me SO MAD that you uncurse my prompts and SO EXCITED for the fics that come from it

Everyone needs to pray for me because I can not write this smut chapter to save my stupid LIFE and feysand week begins MONDAY

“Feyre,” he said again, her name spoken inside her mouth. “Feyre, what have you done to me?”

He offered her no chance to respond, which was lucky. Feyre didn’t know, and might have asked him the same thing. It felt like magic, light and airy, sweet and safe. Not the sort she’d always been surrounded in—thick and oppressive, foul and dark. There was starlight here, moonlight that illuminated the darkest night sky. Rhys practically burned with it, shielding Feyre from all her worst fears.

It was not love, although her rich beauty was a madness to him; nor horror, even while he fancied her spirit to be imbued with the same baneful essence that seemed to pervade her physical frame; but a wild offspring of both love and horror that had each parent in it, and burned like one and shivered like the other.

I relate to this so much! I too occasionally find myself wondering what the original reactions of classic stories were like.

I think about tue Very First production of Romeo and Juliet. Like, probably going to see his new play. Thinking it's gonna be another comedy. Watching it, waiting for these kids to live happily ever after. But then it gets to the end.

Every 21st century piece of writing advice: Make us CARE about the character from page 1! Make us empathize with them! Make them interesting and different but still relatable and likable!

Every piece of classic literature: Hi. It's me. The bland everyman whose only purpose is to tell you this story. I have no actual personality. Here's the story of the time I encountered the worst people I ever met in my life. But first, ten pages of description about the place in which I met them.

Modern writing advice: Yes your protagonist should have flaws but ultimately we should root for them and like them from the beginning :)

Charles Dickens: Here is the worst ugliest rudest meanest nastiest bitch you’ve ever met in your life.

Modern writing advice: Make sure your POV character goes through a significant arc! Make sure they are changed by the narrative! Make sure they learn a lesson!

Narrators of every book of the 19th century: the lesson I learned is these people fucking suck, sayonara you freaks

Modern writing advice: It’s all about the character overcoming obstacles and learning! They learn their lesson so they can fix their mistakes and make good choices in the future! It’s a character arc! It’s called growth! Readers love it!

Everyone from ancient times through the 19th century: would you like to watch a Guy fuck up twenty times in a row

y'all losers just hate women being cunty. if centuries old, ancient men are getting so easily manipulated by a 20 year old girl then it's on them and miss me with the "tamlin's triggers" bullshit. Feyre could've cut Tamlin in ten pieces and she would be completely justified for that since he hurt her and set a trap for her & her family first.

Feyre will never be in the wrong for acting against him after he provoked her. He shouldn't have done that. Be glad she only just "manipulated" him to expose himself to his people.

Oh you mean my hero Feyre Archeron cleverly used the weaknesses and personality of her enemy who hurt and kidnapped her against her will to defeat him? Sounds like a smart and capable badass chick to me.

I haven’t read A Court of Frost and Starlight but I’ve already been spoiled and those spoilers….weren’t very good. Don’t know if I want to ruin the original trilogy with all that crap I’ve just read. By the way Elucian will always be OTP, you can’t change my mind sorry.

(I very rarely draw fanart for this series tbh)

I would've waited five hundred more years for you. A thousand. And if this was all the time we were allowed to have... The wait was worth it.

Rhys and his love for Feyre tho<33
