She's been in hiding. As Lady Cadence.
See, it all adds up. Jolie was dead for 17 years in the beginning of the series, and Lady Cadence was also living with the ogres for 17 years before becoming Sophie's Polyglot mentor.
Jolie was also a Conjurer. Lady Cadence is a Conjurer and a Polyglot. Polyglots often have two abilities, so it wouldn't be impossible for Jolie to be a Polyglot too.
Also, when Jolie's room in Havenfield was being cleared out, they found a bottle of Raven Lovelylocks elixir. LADY CADENCE HAS BLACK HAIR!
