My names Dell. Im an artist/illustrator/theatre creature from CA.
Interested in folk tales, grey areas, and sympathetic monsters.

I recently did a project for local band Weird Year (for their latest album Nick Hates The Beach). It ended up something like a tour journal following a band on a strange roadtrip along the California coast, dodging the surreal and the fantastic all the way to a gig.

This was such a fun project for me. I love doing art for music and making up a little narrative of an indie band roadtrip was just... so damn fun.

If you care to listen to the album its on Sp0tif¥ and AppIe Music. Or have a look at their music videos on youtube. ✌️

Im curious… what are the things that make my art look like my style?

Theres style choices that I make intentionally but theres also a lot that I dont have control of/dont really acknowledge. Id like to hear how my art style reads from anothers perspective.

Would you be alright with other people making worm knight ocs with inspiration of your concept? I’m in love with your oc and want to see what my take would be like.

Also just want to say I love your art in general!!

Yes Im alright with that

Its cool to see others interpretations and I just ask that they credit me accordingly.

(if you do draw something inspired by my art toss me a link/tag because I want to seeee)

i love your art style so much! it's very recognizable, i saw the avalanche specter piece come across my dash and when i saw the eyes i was like "oh that's the clown ape person isn't it??" lol

Thanks! Wow thats so interesting to hear because I didnt even think my art style was recognizable. Especially the avalanche piece because its lineless and I dont do that often.

I figure everyones a little blind to their own style cues though.

DUDE I just saw ur worm Knight pist and like

have you ever played hollow knight

No but I dont really play any video games these days. Too expenshive

I think their designs are cute!

I dont do crosshatching because it for some reason has a cute connotation in my mind... makes me think of gingham dresses.

I like the super intentional/clean hatching like on US currency. Doré does that too on his etchings

But whenever I try to add that second layer of hatching myself my brains like awwwww!! picnic time!!
