I mostly reblog others' posts, but every once in awhile I'll post my own ideas. Twitter profile: @politicecodude. Clearing it of videogame retweets.

I love when foreigners act like the general American populace chose to pay insane medical bills and instead of being sympathetic to normal people who got fucked by the system use the broken medical system to talk about how awesome their tiny european country is

"Why doesn't a nation with a landmass greater than the entire continent of Europe and a population over 330 million have the same health care as a country that's 95% ethnically homogeneous, outsources its military to the US, and has a population under 20 million?"

"Ancoms take over a section of downtown Seattle, turn it into an autonomous zone run by an ugly genderfluid 20-something, their food supply gets stolen by homeless people they let in so they have to beg for more vegan soy product donations on Twitter, and within 2 days the Zone gets taken over by a Soundcloud rapper warlord" literally sounds like something the Babylon Bee would make up as satire. If the right wing were more competent I would seriously believe they had made this up as a psyop or something, it sounds too much like an actual parody of woke culture to be true.

Alright I’m only going to explain this once so listen up…

So hilarious to see normie liberals on the timeline speculating wildly about who the founder/leader of “The ANTIFA Organization” is. LMAO absolute brain rot.

“Its our name, we literally can’t be the bad guys.  Only they can be bad guys cause we’re the anti-bad guys”

You’ve got to be kidding me.  A name doesn’t erase the horrible things you people have done

You have no idea how hard I looked for that image.

Every time

One side is actually protesting peacefully for their rights. The other side are rioting, looting, destroying black homes, black businesses, attacking innocent people and burning buildings. Big difference

Maybe if you wanted to be seen as protesters you should have been protesting instead of devolving into riots.

You didn’t want to be shot or broken up by police? Maybe you should have done like the other protesters and armed up.

It ain’t fuckin’ rocket science. If you are peaceful, but armed, everyone will see your message and agree. When you loot your local stored for some Nike’s and a TV, you lose any and all semblance of a message, and yes, you absolutely disrespect the name and memory of George Floyd.

Funny how they didn’t care when Obama said it.

Most of the policies Trump gets attacked over are literally Obama’s policies.  Most of the rest are similar to Obama policies.

cant believe grown adults still need early middle school concepts like ‘the electoral college exists so that presidential candidates are forced to care about people in less populous areas’

but then again those same people have dehumanized people in rural areas just like the elderly in general to the point where they think old people shouldnt vote because laws totally dont affect the retired or infirm at all

This is why peacefully protesting is a mugs game. The state ain’t peaceful

so go after the state.

Not regular people.

I watched the first four, and I can’t help but notice how every single one of these only shows us what the police did, and absolutely none of the surrounding context. We’re just supposed to assume the cops are the bad guys. The third one is literally just some lady backing away and falling over.

After the UC Davis thing, I’m just going to go ahead and assume they’ve been deceptively edited. And point out the hypocrisy of people who ignore or even endorse harm to innocent people - up to and including murder - suddenly caring about harm when the protesters and rioters face force.

I’d make a “iNSurANcE WiLL TakE CARE oF iT” joke, but…I don’t want to.

Did you at least get a complimentary breath mint after this pro bono deepthroating?

“These videos are cut to hide context, make the protesters look like innocent victims and the cops like bad guys, and it’s not remotely the first time. We don’t really have enough information from what we see to decide either way. It’s also hypocritical and ironic to only care about harm to innocents only when the harm is coming from cops.”

“BOOTLICKER!”

First rule of avoiding propaganda: NEVER trust information coming out of a war zone, and both sides are likely lying.

I don’t know a lot about US law, I will be honest, but this seems like yet another step towards the fascist dictatorship of Donald Trump.

It’s really tricky, because on the one hand, the Black Lives Matter movement is hugely important and I totally understand and respect their desire to keep their protests peaceful.

But on the other hand, I sort of feel like people should be rioting about this- because it’s fucking scary what is happening right now.

this is a huge fucking deal.

habeas corpus is meant to protect detainees by giving them right to report unlawful detention, and protects them against indefinite imprisonment – by suspending this, people can be detained without being given a reason, for however long. many protesters have been held for more than 24 hours; some have been held for up to 36.

those who have been released from detainment have said that detainees are being held without being given proper amount of water, soap or hand sanitizer, as hand sanitizer dispensers had been removed from holding cells, medical attention, or masks; many cops are not wearing masks. detainees are also being refused phone calls, giving families and lawyers no way to find them. (source, source

the reasoning judge james burke gave for this was that, due to COVID, the pace of arraignments has slowed, as COVID has necessitated remote (virtual) hearings. however, multiple attorneys for Legal Aid (an nyc law firm that works specifically in cases where clients have been systemically neglected by the city) said that this was unacceptable, as the nypd has the resources necessary to arraign people faster, and that this was purposeful – due to a history of deliberately delaying arraignments because they “don’t like what they’re doing on the street,” and specifically now as the protests are targeting police brutality. (source, source)

detainees are being kept in cramped holding cells, filled to over capacity. they are being held in an enclosed space, often without masks as they had been taken away from them by police at their time of arrest; they can now be held indefinitely. the risk of infection is staggering. nypd’s assistant deputy commissioner stated, in an attempt to quell this issue, that protesters aren’t social distancing on the street – ignoring the fact that being outside with masks, with the room to social distance (barring instances of the police kettling, which, by the way, happened in the bronx last night) is a far cry from being detained indoors, en masse without immediate access to sanitizer, soap, and masks.

while these arrests include people who are acting violently, they also massively include people who are peacefully protesting past the 8pm curfew (including people sitting on their own front stoops). this is a low-level offense that does not necessitate detainment. in addition, cops are arresting food delivery people for being out past curfew, even though they are considered essential workers; delivery workers are overwhelmingly immigrants and people of color.

the gross misconduct of the nypd continues to escalate, and continues to be upheld by city officials who consider reports of police brutality, from journalists in the middle of these protests, “a different reality” than that seen from city hall. here’s looking at you, de blasio

i’m not quite sure what this suspension of habeas corpus does to affect bail funds; but, here are a list of nyc-specific bail funds and organizations:

Bronx Bail Fund (via Venmo)

Brooklyn Bail Fund (note: they are not currently taking funds as their needs have been met.)

These people will lick deblasio’s and cuomo’s ass while this goes down. I have a feeling they wouldn’t give a shit if the pigs were locking up people defending themselves, open carrying, or protecting their property from the mob regardless of the individual’s migrant status or race.

Wonder how many more bodies DeBlasio and Cuomo are going to have on their hands after this, they already have thousands because of the nursing home thing.

Antifa is literally a communist vanguard initiated by the KPD German communist party in order to instigate and wage politically notivated violence, and it consideres all liberals as fascists worthy of violent retaliation. It is literally opposed to private property and thus also against self ownership of human beings, endorsing social democracy and communism as their position. Antifa is not an opposition, it is a position of advocating communism and denouncing individualism and liberty. Political violence is literally what terrorism is. That's antifa's basis, that's the communist platform, to force parity, and compliance with left vanguard goals.

These two images hit different to me.

The top is my homestate. Michigan. Armed protestors against the stay at home order shouting in the faces of police because they want their haircuts.

The bottom is yesterday. Minnesota. More exact, Minneapolis. Miles from where I live. Protestors sitting while police show up in riot gear as they rightfully protest and demand justice for the murder of George Floyd.

I’m not the least bit shocked. But seeing the stark contrast from two places I’ve called home is so disappointing and infuriating that the racist system we live in allows for this and there’s still people who will say the protestors in Minneapolis were wrong. Just... I’m so angry the “land of the free” fails so many people. America was never the land of the free.

“because they want their haircuts“

No, they wanted to fucking work so they didn’t lose their homes and starve. If you honestly think it’s just about haircuts, you’re privilaged as fuck.

“Protestors sitting while police show up in riot gear as they rightfully protest and demand justice for the murder of George Floyd.”

Oops, OP forgot to post some images.

There we go. Must have accidently created a bullshit narrative.

“I’m not the least bit shocked.“

Yeah burning buildings tend to bring in cops.

“ut seeing the stark contrast from two places I’ve called home is so disappointing and infuriating that the racist system we live in allows for this and there’s still people who will say the protestors in Minneapolis were wrong.“

You’re right, they should have thrown the yelling protesters into the fires of the ACTUAL VIOLENT protestors over one cop. And mind you, cops still kill more white people than black people. But no, it HAS to be racism right>

“Just… I’m so angry the “land of the free” fails so many people. America was never the land of the free.”

Your proof being you editing out facts and context.

Yeah sure.
