“Women don’t watch women’s sports because they’re no fun” no, women are less likely to watch women’s sports because everytime I change the TV station to a woman’s game at the bar I hear a chorus of boos from the men, and I have to pay $100 a month to get ESPN 8 The Ocho to watch it at home, meanwhile local NBA/MLB/NFL games are free without cable.

If I physically cannot access women’s sports, then I can’t watch women’s sports. If I get a men’s game for free but have to pay $20 a month to access the women’s game, guess which one is going to be watched.

If I had two cookies in front of you, and one was free and one was $20, it wouldn’t matter if the $20 cookie was significantly better and didn’t travel all the time without getting called for it and didn’t waste time being a little baby in the batters box or didn’t throw themselves on the ground trying to foul out other players, you’d still take the free cookie.

could you fucking Imagine a TRA trying to bullshit a straight man the way they've been bullshitting lesbians

imagine saying to a heterosexual man "if you're really attracted to women, and not just a vagina fetishist, you'd totally want to go out with a transwoman, because everybody should be attracted to all genitals! it's morally wrong to exclude women who have penises!" please visualize what his reaction would be to being told that

they know female/male socialization is real because the male-socialized response to this suggestion is indifference or violence, while the female-socialized response is self-doubt, or a conversation at worst. compound that with lesbians facing societal homophobia already and you get the perfect target for this rhetoric.

#Superstraight. It was very much a thing because online weirdos attempted to do the same to straight men. Except online, nobody can physically punch anybody else, so het males did "#superstraight". Even online however straight men and the response to the TRA bullying showed the difference between male-female socialization. It was crazy. Lesbians never would try or get away with (build momentum) that sort of #superlesbian trend.

is this implying that men with DSDs are women? the vast majority are just men with health problems. and XY intersex males with no advantage such as those who are insensitive to male hormones and who have bodies that look ostensibly female like women with CAIS are overepresented in the Olympics and competitive sports in general. you can't escape your male genes even when your body isn't marred by male hormones.

Testosterone is far from the decisive factor in athleticism. The most dramatic example is women with CAIS, whose tissues are completely unresponsive to testosterone but who are overrepresented among elite athletes (Tucker and Collins 2010, 138). This fact cannot be readily reconciled with a theory that suggests testosterone is the main source of athletic ability. Moreover, the relationship between testosterone and physique is extremely complex even beyond the issue of receptor variability. Relying on testosterone levels suggests far more certainty than current scientific knowledge allows.
Out of Bounds? A Critique of the New Policies on Hyperandrogenism in Elite Female Athletes

Q: What is intersex?

A: Sex is the developmental pathway your body went on to produce either small or large gametes. Variation in development does not mean one becomes a different sex. Intersex conditions are variations within the two sexes, not “new sexes”. Many intersex conditions are sex-specific. Each intersex condition (40+) is unique and requires case-specific medical treatment. They are discrete and discontinuous, not on a spectrum. When we say sex is diverse and does not fit into a binary, it means that there is more than one phenotype for the male sex and more than one phenotype for the female sex due to intersex variations. In order for an intersex condition to qualify as a third sex category in biology, a third gamete or reproductive function would have to be formed. Since intersex conditions do not result in either, they are not evidence of a third sex category. In humans or any other organism, there is no third gamete or gamete in-between the small and large gametes. Additionally, if intersex people were a third sex or a sex spectrum, we would have each condition show an equal rate of occurrence in all ethnicities across the board, the same way all ethnicities have the same male-to-female sex ratio. But we do not: certain intersex conditions are more common in certain ethnic groups (virilizing CAH in Ashkenazi Jews, lipoid CAH in Koreans, and 5ARD in the Dominican Republic, some highland tribes in New Guinea, Lebanon and Turkey). Most intersex people simply have (an) extra, missing, or mutated sex chromosome(s) that cause phenotypic differences that cause disorders in sex development.

Q: Is being intersex about as common as having red hair (1.7%)?

A: This often-cited figure comes from Anne Fausto-Sterling's paper.* Fausto-Sterling counts disorders such as Klinefelter syndrome (which affects only males), Turner syndrome(which affects only females), and late-onset adrenal hyperplasia (LOAH). Klinefelter Syndrome and Turner Syndrome do not result in ambiguous genitalia or sex. Of the 1.7 percent, 1.5 percentage points (88%) consist of individuals with LOAH.** LOAH individuals have completely normal male or female genitalia at birth that align with their sex chromosomes. The sex of these individuals is not ambiguous, so to label LOAH as an intersex condition is a far cry from what most people and clinicians conceptually envision the term to capture. Vaginal agenesis, the next most common DSD on the list, is not generally considered an intersex condition. To arrive at their 1.7% figure, they asked how frequently humans deviate from this Platonic ideal. In the review, their “ideal male” is defined as someone with XY chromosomes, functional testes located in the scrotal sac, a penis between 2.5 and 4.5 cm at birth, and a completely enclosed urethra that opens at the tip. The ideal male must also have testes that produce Mullerian inhibiting factor as well as testosterone and dihydrotestosterone, and juvenile testicular activity must result in a typical masculinizing puberty. Their “ideal female” has two X chromosomes, functional ovaries that result in normal feminizing puberty, intact oviducts attached to a functional uterus, cervix, and vaginal canal. This ideal female must also have labia minora and majora present, and a clitoris that ranges between 0.20 cm and 0.85 cm in length at birth.

According to these criteria, approximately 1.7 percent of individuals can be defined as intersex, though the authors suggest this figure could even be as high as 2.27 percent if the criteria are made even more expansive. That's because deviations from the "ideal" male and female categories that are defined is not necessarily the same as being intersex.

Philosopher Kathleen Stock points out that she would be considered as “intersex” under Fausto-Sterling’s “preposterously over-demanding conditions on sex category membership”, as she lost an ovary in early adulthood despite not having an intersex condition.***

When people hear that 1.7% of the population is intersex, they imagine 1.7% of the population having completely ambiguous genitals, or being a perfect in-between of male and female. Neither of these things are true. Most intersex people can easily be classified as male or female. Only a small number of births are ambiguous, but can still be classified.

Q: How many births are actually ambiguous or intersex?

A: There are different estimates:

  • 0.01%
  • "The available data support the conclusion that human [sex] is a dichotomy, not a continuum....The birth of an intersex child, far from being ‘a fairly common phenomenon,’ is actually a rare event, occurring in fewer than 2 out of every 10,000 births."*
  • 0.05% - 0.06%
  • "If you ask experts at medical centers how often a child is born so noticeably atypical in terms of genitalia that a specialist in sex differentiation is called in, the number comes out to about 1 in 1500 to 1 in 2000 births." **
  • 0.1%
  • "The incidence of intersex is about 2 per 1,000." ***
  • 0.018%
  • The "true prevalence of intersex is seen to be about 0.018%, almost 100 times lower than Fausto-Sterling’s estimate of 1.7%."****

The frequency varies by condition:

  • Swyer Syndrome: 1 in 100,000 females; fewer than 100 cases have been reported as of 2018*****
  • De la Chapelle Syndrome: estimates 1 in 20,000 - 30,000 males has a 46,XX karyotype; only 200 cases have been reported as of 2010.******
  • Androgen insensitivity syndrome (complete and partial phenotypes): 1 in 99,000*******

Ultimately, 99.8% of births are unambiguously male or female.**** Not all intersex births are ambiguous.

Q: Do intersex conditions cause dysphoria or make people trans?

A: No, not necessarily. Most intersex people do not experience dysphoria or identify as trans.

  • Let's look at CAH as an example: A 2004 study found that CAH did not affect 5-12 year old girls’ gender identity.*
  • A 2005 study reported that 94.8% of CAH females raised as females “later developed a gender identity as girls and women and did not feel gender dysphoric.”**
  • A 2016 study found that CAH girls “reported positive attitudes about being a girl.”***
  • 2018 study found “no differences in emotional or behavioral problems” between CAH girls and their unaffected sisters.****

So being intersex doesn't necessarily guarantee a child will be trans, dysphoric, or unhappy with being male or female.

Q: Does data from LGBT organizations show that many people are intersex?

A: Yes, because many organizations rely on participants self-reporting if they are intersex. For example, let's look at FRA’s 2019 survey on LGBTI people in the EU and North Macedonia and Serbia. With almost 140,000 participants, it is the largest survey of its kind.

Of the 1,519 respondents who said they were intersex:

  • 43% of respondents say that they discovered a variation of their secondary sex characteristics themselves.
  • About one in 10 said there was no medical determination of them being intersex and other people had told them they might be intersex.
  • Only 34% had received "a specific medical diagnosis and clear information concerning the variation of chromosomes or hormonal patterns."

Only a proportion of people who identified as intersex in this survey have a specific diagnosis. Self-reporting may be the reason why there are discrepancies in data between LGBT organization sampling/surveys and the actual intersex population. Additionally, some intersex conditions being hard to recognize until later in life or being underdiagnosed may mean these individuals are not represented as intersex in these surveys.

Q: Do intersex conditions explain why some people are trans? Aren't lots of trans people intersex? What do experts/studies have to say on this?

A: This a conflation of gender identity and sex. Intersex people might identify as trans, but most don't. Trans individuals almost always have typical XX or XY karyotypes. Chromosomal DSDs are rare in transgender or gender dysphoric individuals.

  • In a 2011 study conducted with over 300 trans individuals, 97.55% had typical karyotypes of XX or XY, matching their birth sex. Only 3 out of 368 had Klinefelter syndrome (Klinefelter syndrome (XYY) only occurs in males).*
  • A 2013 study of 475 trans subjects reported chromosomal abnormalities in 1.5% of the sample.**
  • A 2018 study of 128 individuals in a group of pediatric gender service patients found “no sex chromosome abnormalities directly suggestive of a DSD”.*** This is very similar to the general population, where 99.8% of births are unambiguously male or female.****
  • Dr. Olson-Kennedy is the medical director of the largest transgender youth clinic in the United States. Johanna Olson-Kennedy, MD and her colleagues acknowledge that “the majority of transgender individuals do not have a disorder of sex development.”*****

Sometimes I watch Trixie and Katya (I know controversial but it is like mind numbing and it relaxes me) and they talk about like dick and anal sex and stuff all the time and even how weird they think vulvas are and I always think about how a lesbian version of their show would never be allowed. All the comments would be "why do you talk only about pussy" and calling them TERFs but because they are men they are allowed to have sexual preferences.

Trixie also posts shit about “being a wet teenage girl” and “look deep into my gash”, he in particular thinks that the female body is something funny and/or pornographic aka something unnatural

Why I use the term Rape Economy.

I use the term "Rape Economy" to explain the market structures that connect the commercialization, commodification and exploitation of the female body and its unique, vital, necessary reproductive functions.*

Prostitution is a market for women to be raped for payment, often handled through an exploitative third party- a brothel or pimp. This puts a price on female sexual acts,

Surrogacy is a market for women to become pregnant, give birth and be forcibly separated from her child for a demeaningly low charge, often handled through exploitative "donation" sites or adoption agencies.

The cosmetics industry is a market that, along with global media and marketing agencies, generate body dysmorphias and insecurities in order to women and sell them a cosmetic remedy. These remedies are usually a derivative of the chemical or extraction industries.

Pornography is a media market where real-life women are forced to have sex on camera, whether they desire that sexual encounter or not. That resulting videotape is then sold and uploaded to a fetish market online (the fetish being vouyerism) where an overwhelmingly male audience is permitted access to the video evidence of the woman's sexual encounter. These videos often feature additional sexually, physically, or emotionally abusive content including slapping, hitting, choking, or the use of racial slurs, offensive stereotypes, gendered insults. Note that It is almost impossible for a passive viewer to know whether a pornographic film features consensual sex or an act of rape.

I'm not sure if anyone else has used the term rape economy before, but I began studying radical feminist theory I began to notice a trend of commodifying female bodies. Please forgive me if this term is used elsewhere, as it is has been hard to search online and see any use of it so far. Regardless, I give it to you all for your use, knowledge, and documentation of female commodification.

By Vanessa Friedman April 12, 2024

Ever since the Norwegian women’s beach handball team turned the fact that they were required to wear teeny-tiny bikini bottoms for competition into a cause célèbre, a quiet revolution has been brewing throughout women’s sports. It’s one that questions received conventions about what female athletes do — or don’t — have to wear to perform at their very best.

It has touched women’s soccer (why white shorts?), gymnastics (why not a unitard rather than a leotard?), field hockey (why a low-cut tank top?) and many more, including running.

So it probably should not have come as a shock to Nike that when it offered a sneak peek of the Team U.S.A. track and field unies during a Nike Air event in Paris celebrating its Air technology on Thursday (which also included looks for other Olympic athletes, like Kenya’s track and field team, France’s basketball team and Korea’s break dancing delegation), they were met with some less-than-enthusiastic reactions.

See, the two uniforms Nike chose to single out on the mannequins included a men’s compression tank top and mid-thigh-length compression shorts and a woman’s bodysuit, cut notably high on the hip. It looked sort of like a sporty version of a 1980s workout leotard. As it was displayed, the bodysuit seemed as if it would demand some complicated intimate grooming.

Citius Mag, which focuses on running news, posted a photo of the uniforms on Instagram, and many of its followers were not amused.

“What man designed the woman’s cut?” wrote one.

“I hope U.S.A.T.F. is paying for the bikini waxes,” wrote another. So went most of the more than 1,900 comments.

The running comedian Laura Green posted an Instagram reel in which she pretended to be trying on the look (“We’re feeling pretty, um, breezy,” she said) and checking out the rest of the athlete’s kit bag, which turned out to include hair spray, lip gloss and a “hysterectomy kit,” so the women would not have to worry about periods.

When asked, Nike did not address the brouhaha directly, but according to John Hoke, the chief innovation officer, the woman’s bodysuit and the man’s shorts and top are only two of the options Nike will have for its Olympic runners. There are “nearly 50 unique pieces across men’s and women’s and a dozen competition styles fine-tuned for specific events,” Mr. Hoke said.

Christ, it doesn't even cover the vulva fully. How on earth is a woman supposed to be able to move freely in something like that.

Imagine if male athletes were expected and encouraged to wear something that required them to entirely remove their pubic hair and could shift and expose their balls if not taped or glued down.

"sex work is work" ok then go give a blow job to your uncle to earn some extra cash, jonathan

Since when is sex work…incest????

but sex work is just a service right? you would mow your uncle's lawn too without it being incest right? so if sex work is JUST service - like the pro-sex work crowd keeps saying it is - then what's the problem? or is sex deeper than that? can it ever really be just work?

#any real service you can give to your family#you can be a nurse or waitress or cook or driver or even physical therapist to your family#but not have sex with them because that would be incest#and thats because sex is not just like anything else

Just because 4b/6b4t or female separatism isn't for you (which is fine btw. It's very radical and very effort-heavy & most women dont want that) doesn't mean you have to go dragging it through the mud and spreading the implication that it's terfy (ooohhhh scary!!!) and driving away women interested in it because they don't want to be labeled as transphobic based on absolutely nothing

people when they can no longer claim "white feminism"

It's beyond sickening.

americans seem receptive to the idea of no childbirth. other tenets aren't as warmly viewed or people are fence sitters on the 4B movement tenets.

idk "fuck a man but kick him out after so he can go to sleep in his own damn house" may work for america. the worst thing a woman can do to endanger herself is have a man's child; if she doesn't die during childbirth or get lifelong medical conditions, he will forever be present in her life even if they break up, and imagine having to let an abuser see your child. so no surprise that seems to be resonating with american women particularly in wake of roe v. wade taken away.

the second worst thing is marriage or marrying a man... but maybe we'll get there slowly...
